Brisket was good, would have liked for the turkey to have more of a smoked flavor. Too many beans in the Brunswick stew.

First rate old school barbecue restaurant in Yulee Florida. My first time there. I had the lunch special of a BBQ pork... sandwich on garlic toast with collard greens on the side. the southern country style house is very cozy and has the specialty brisquet smoked for 12 hours and reference in yulee which... was very tasty, due to the tenderness of the meat, you could see that the fat could melt during its smoking process. It had acrispy, purple crust. impeccable. Decided to try this place out after seeing good reviews. Well it was terrible the pulled pork and turkey has no flavor you can... easily tell it was not smoked or grilled like it was baked, green beans are canned and have a crazy amount of butter added,coleslaw was warm and had no flavor. We were very disappointed with this restaurant. The brisket and the burgers were unremarkable. The most disgusting thing is... that this restaurant has a cockroach/palmetto bug infestation! They were coming down the wall, running across the floor,crawling up the door, it was nasty. We left immediately after receiving our order. I had to dissect my sandwich to ensure nobug got in there! How can they pass a health inspection? Please be aware that this place has a bug infestation, there weresightings all over the place and the staff seemed disinterested when we mentioned it. Came here after a flight and saw all the many good reviews and was expecting epic bbq. Sadly the bbq lacked flavor and was... filled with so much fat that I had to pick out half the food. I had the loaded potato and only ate half. They have a bbq saucestation which had some tasty sauces and I depended heavily on those to enjoy the food. Still when I got some lean pork withsome potatoes and sauce it was ok. I would not come back here again as i have had much better bbq. Read more
