From Crater Lake, we are moving toward SFO. Since we stopped for lunch on the spur of the moment, we weren't prepared for the... caliber of the fare. Unexpectedly stopping by to have this treat for a family of six was fortunate. Great service, a smilewhile serving (which is rare these days), and a quality check on each item we ordered. This restaurant serves what is probably the tastiest and most authentic Indian food around. My husband is Indian and he really... likes their food. We have also been to a few expensive Indian restaurants in California , and their food was not as good as Starof India. Their naan and roti are literally the best. And all of their curries are really delicious. Their samosas arewonderful. Often, Indian restaurants make food really flavorless when you ask for ?mild?. But in Star of India the curry isstill super delicious and flavorful, even if it is ?mild?. The staff are really friendly, and helpful. It is very clean andpleasant. The only thing, is I wish they would use better quality ingredients. but, their prices are great, so that?s not reallya deal-breaker at all. Read more
Not a glamorous dining area, nice and clean but simple tables and chairs. However the most important thing was that the food was... great. Outstanding Lamb tikka marsala. Best meal I have had in any Indian restaurant, in a very long time. Prices are veryreasonable also. Read more

We just had my daughter's 22nd birthday there. All of the staff were amazing and the food was even better.
