Reviews for The Oaks Lakeside Kitchen in Hiawassee, GA
We enjoyed our experience so much. We arrived early for our reservation and were welcomed to enjoy a cocktail at the bar or... lounge area while we waited. We were greeted by the most pleasant human we've ever met, Shilla, the general manager. She helpedmy husband choose a cocktail and made my choice of vodka for my dirty martini easy by listing great options for me. She set thetone for our evening within seconds of our arrival. Lucky for us, she ended up serving us the whole evening to allow her servertime to catch up. She never admitted to what the issue may of been, but kept it very cool and professional. She made greatrecommendations for us menu wise and even found a different old fashion for my husband that was more to his taste. This eveningwas made special by sucknsimple gestures and by the surprise cheese cake at the very end. My 30th birthday was incrediblespecial due to this establishment and its staff. I've been in the restaurant industry for years serving and managing, and I cantype this with confidence. Shilla is the best! She loves her restaurant and staff and believes in her team and thatshowed. BTW, Holly made the BEST dirty martini I've had. Xtra dirty with Belvidere Vodka! We will be back FOR SURE! ThanksOaks! The food was very good and the portions were generous but the service provided by Stephano was sub par. Yes he apologized for... the delay but when the two tables next to us both arrived after us and left more than 30 minutes before we got the check.Unacceptable. The table next to us had the exact same thing as we did and more. Disappointing that it could have been specialbut instead was forgettable. Read more
Our experience at The Oaks Lakeside Kitchen was absolutely incredible. Let's just start with our server Steffon, he really took... the time to connect with us by recommending 10/10 entree choices , gave a little history lesson of the newer restaurant , andbroke down a really good itenterary for non locals lol. The food at The Oaks is farm to table and quite literally tastes asfresh as it sounds . The food is fresh and flavorful. The chef is a true artist in their craft . The food was very good to saythe least. Desert options , it was hard to narrow down the choices, but the bread pudding is making a comeback with theirGeorgia peach touch. Read more
Had the great pleasure of dining here in its new iteration on 9/17. 1st class dining from soup to nuts. Accolades to server... Michelle, Manager Shilla, and Chef extraordinaire George who all went above and beyond to deliver an exceptional 5 star (yes, here in the mountains!) culinary experience. I had The Oaks roasted chicken and my husband had the braised short ribs. Bothwere *outstanding*. Cocktail (Old Fashioned) was among the best we've ever had - to include venues in NYC and San Francisco. Additionally, the prices are reasonable for a top notch dining experience. As most of you know, you can't beat the view aswell. With limited fine dining choices in this part of NW Georgia, we are thrilled to have this gem as a hometown go-to whendining intimately, or impressing out of town guests. We've already made our next reservation! Cindy and Ken Conforti Read more
We visited the Oaks twice this past month, since their re-opening. Absolutely loved the drinks, appetizers, main courses, and... dessert. The crème brûlée cheesecake is fabulous. We enjoyed the seafood special on our first visit. On our most recent visitI got the pork chop and my husband got the filet. Both were cooked to perfection and had great flavors. Our waitress, Michelle, was very attentive and friendly. We also appreciated how Stefan, a waiter, but not ours, took the time to help us pick out awine. So happy that this restaurant reopened. I hope that they expand to offering lunches next year so that we can boat on overwith friends and family. Oh, and I LOVE how they send you off with freshly baked, individually wrapped, muffins that include apersonal hand written note from your waiter/waitress. They are a nice treat the following morning. This place is fabulous. From the ambience, the service, the meal and the dessert. Alexandra was the absolute best!!! The... fillet was cooked to perfection, as was the bourbon braised short rib. The fillet was a special and had crab meat and amustard sauce, with vegetables as shown in the picture. Oh and the drinks were very good too. Our friends has the Water Wheeland they loved them and took the recipe with them to Alabama. This visit was to celebrate a birthday and an anniversary. Wewill definitely be back, even when there is not a special occasion. Read more
We had the best experience here the other night! Beautiful restaurant with a great atmosphere (the fireplace in the dining room... is beautiful), comfortable seating and no loud music preventing conversations. Our server Michelle was so wonderful, as was themanager who stopped by our table to see how we enjoyed everything. Our appetizers we're absolutely delicious (almost filled upon them before our main course). We got 2 very delicious dessert's and left feeling happy & full. We have kids & don't get to goout much just the 2 of us, so this was a beautiful night & we definitely plan on returning in the future. Read more
