Reviews for The Mountain Room in Yosemite Valley, CA

Overpriced and over salted food aside, I was made to feel incredibly unwelcome during my second night here. The server made it... clear that I was the last of his reservations upon sitting and was rushed to order despite being a guest at the adjoining hoteland arriving well before their stated closing time. The entrée arrived within minutes of placing the order and aroom-temperature main course was served as soon as I finished rushing the entrée down in the hope to buy some space ahead ofthe main. Without having had time to breathe, I politely asked for a couple of minutes to let my food digest before orderingdessert to which the server responded with utter disdain and without recognizing that those around me, who were seated earlier, were still working through their mains. Upon feeling so uncomfortable I decided to curtail my meal prematurely and call for thecheck. Despite dining and travelling often, I?ve never felt so rushed and uncomfortable in any restaurant and have neverreceived food so over salted (on both nights) that it genuinely burned mine and my partners mouths long after leaving. This isin spite of the high prices, the exclusive setting, and being left without dinner options on Mondays and Tuesdays while allrestaurant staff take the same day off (no kidding) and expecting the hotel guests - paying at least $300 a night for even thecheapest of rooms - to figure it out for themselves. I very rarely leave reviews but would strongly recommend consideringaccommodation and dining options outside of the park and travelling in to explore its beauty during the day. All of theamenities within Yosemite are sadly run by the same private company with total disregard for their paying customers and anapparent lack of training or support to their visibly unhappy employees. With large glass windows and views of the forest, this restaurant has a great location and good food. I had the trout which was... excellent. It was better than the sea bass I had the next evening at the Awanee. Read more

We wanted to treat ourselves after a day of hiking, and this was perfect.

Phenomenal dining experience right in the heart of Yosemite. I did not have as favorable review of the lodging, but The... Mountain Room far exceeded expectations. Both the Rainbow Trout dish and Filet Mignon were of two of the best entrees we?ve hadanywhere. Both perfectly prepared ? the trout had complex flavors both above and below the crispy skin. The filet melted inyour mouth and into the potatoes below. Local bread and whipped butter sampler was also a nice treat. Atmosphere was great, with wonderful views and excellent service Read more

Best steak I've ever had! One of the fanciest restaurants I've ever been too as well. The waiter was super awesome, helped us... choose food and went above and beyond! Read more

Online booking for September only. I came at 5 o?clock and there was 1 person on the reservation, and there were 15 people in... the queue, I was 4, they didn?t put me in and said to come at 8. I came for children?s pasta $ 10, the horror is not tasty. Mussels in tomato sauce too. The mango lemonade was plain and without the mango! Only the soup of the day was delicious. Read more
