I had about a 25 minute wait but that wasn't too bad. It was very busy. The food was amazing. Peyton was very friendly, all... smiles and just a great person (thanks for swapping the sweet tea that wasn't sweet enough for a cola!). Very chill and comfortable establishment. The theme is really cool and so are the vibes. Overall, the service probably knocked... this establishment from 5 stars to 4. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either. The food was good, but I feel like Poe'scould expand on their menu just a little more to explore more options. OUTSTANDING PLACE TO EAT WITH YOUR FAMILY! 6 kids from age 3 to 13 and 4 adults and everyone had something delicious to eat.... Elizabeth is an absolute delight! Ask for her if she?s there. Poe?s Tavern is good, but not great or fantastic. Nothing wowed me. Decent bar food. I enjoyed the buffalo shrimp salad. The... shrimps were pretty small, they didn?t appear to be fresh, probably were frozen. I will say the blue cheese dressing wasdelicious. I ordered a side of bacon coleslaw as well and I enjoyed it because it was light and did not have the usual mayo init. My father got the Maui fish tacos and he said they were average and didn?t taste fresh. Not pictured are two burgers weordered and they were extremely rare, basically mooing ???? Great atmosphere, open air seating in main area and outside tables with covered areas, nice large bar, large variety local brews... in bottles and on tap. Top rated bar food, excellent burgers. Had Catawba White on tap and a Black Cat burger without bun and atavern salad, excellent eats. The 1/2 burger had pimento cheese, drunken chili, fried onion curls with fixings. The theme of the establishment was super cool to experience but customer service was extremely lacking. Waited 1 1/2 hrs for... food and it wasn't anything special or good. The soup tasted canned. Or at least all ingredients were canned. The oystercrackers that came with it were stale. The burger was said to be "pretty big", per the waitress. But it was fairly small. Thebun was even bigger than the patty. My burger was super dry and the only flavor was from the pickles on top of it. Read more

They accommodated our large party with ease. Sunday about 1130. 25 people. The staff were quick to get us settled with drinks... and take our app in food order as we were ready. They were so attentive but not overbearing. There was a steady flow of otherpatrons and things seem to move very smoothly for all of the staff. (Which is rare these days at other places). Their burgerswere perfectly juicy and cooked to temp. so delicious. Nachos were super crispy and fresh. Chili con queso appetizer is perfectfor sharing with big chunks of vegetables and meat. Solid food. Great environment. Excellent service. Poe is a family favorite and they really capture a Poe vibe with their... decor?down to the bathroom being wallpapered in pages from Poe stories while a Poe book on take plays on the speaker. I wouldlove it if they piped in the audio book to the dining room or had optional speakers at the table so you could listen to thestories while eating. Read more
