We've been getting my son's birthday cakes from here for the past three years. The last two years, we've gone for the Pumpkin... Caramel flavor cake inside (disguised as a kid's cake, but really, it's for the adults haha). It is always SO good and bothyears has been the hit of the party. Kids & adults absolutely love it. People who are not normally "cake people",self-admittedly LOVED these cakes at the party, and there's never anything leftover. Ordering is super easy, the staff is sofriendly and the quality is second-to-none. Thank you Alice & the staff at Beancounter for always coming through for our specialevents and the occasional cupcake & coffee mother/son date throughout the year. While stopping in Worcester, almost by mistake, my wife and I stumbled across this place and absolutely loved it! The dining... room is clean and bright, the Coffee we ordered (an iced "White Lightning" and a frozen Creme Caramel) was fantastic and so wasthe service. 10/10 would recommend!! Read more
I've been going to the bean counter on highland for years. I stopped by the Grove Street location for the first time recently.... While we were waiting in line, we had kind of a rude interaction with someone behind the counter that lead to an unorganized andconfusing check out experience. The pastries were very sweet and dry, which is not a usual experience for the bean counter. Leftme feeling kind of sour. Read more
One of the highlights of wedding planning is the cake tasting, and if you choose Bean Counter Bakery, you?re really in for a... treat! We chose Bean Counter Bakery because not only did their flavors blow us away, but we were also excited to support alocal, woman-owned business. We chose a spice cake with an apple caramel filling and buttercream frosting and, oh man, justremembering it is making me hungry! The cake was beautiful and absolutely divine. Our guests couldn?t stop talking about howdelicious the cake was: delicately moist, not overwhelmingly sweet, and perfectly fitting for a New England fall wedding. I love both Bean Counter locations so much. The Highland st location is a bit more cozy, but this spot has so much space for... seating, is very bright, and has more options for baked goods! Especially love the Crown Bakery Swedish rolls you can get here.Staff are lovely and efficient. Our Chai latte and cafe au lait were perfect. I've ordered from this bakery twice now, and the service, as well as the cupcakes/cake, was amazing each time! My most recent... order was a custom blue and orange cake (attached images) for my daughter's Godzilla vs Kong themed birthday party. I was beyondpleased to see that every single one of my specific/custom requests was executed better than I had hoped and imagined! Theowner, Alice, is wonderful! Her cakes and cupcakes are phenomenal; light and moist, with the perfect amount of sweet! Even withfruit filling the cake was not overwhelmingly sugary, which is/was amazing!! Thank you Alice!
