Excellent restaurant, friendly and quick staff, good food and really great prices for the quality. The miso soup was fantastic... as well but I didn't get a picture. The sushi rice was a little too seasoned for my tastes but otherwise 0 complaints, and Iwould hands down recommend Read more

First time trying a new Japanese Style Sushi Retaurant. It's conveniently located downstairs from the 7 Train's 61st Street -... Woodside Station. It was busy even after we showed up past the lunch hour rush. We were still able to get the bento box lunchspecials and ordered a few extra sushi rolls and a fried green tea ice cream to finish our meal. It was alot of rice and willfill you up. The food was good overall with competitive pricing. Read more

The service was amazing. I had 2 shrimp tempura rolls and an avocado & cucumber roll and both were good. I also had the green... tea fried ice cream for dessert but I forgot to take a picture of it ?? the fried ice cream was incredible, perfect amount ofsweet and savory because of the fried component. Can?t wait to try more dishes when I go back! Read more

My miso soup came first, it was tasty and hot, but perhaps a little too salty. I liked it, though, and the warm, refreshing... character of the broth was the perfect escape from the chilled touch of the biting cold weather outside. The boy brought me mysushi, which was something called a ?viking roll.? It had eel, and that was the only reason I chose it. Even without the soysauce, the roll was killer. I loved the delicate balance between cucumber, eel, rice, and the other mixed vegetables; it feltlike cool crashing waves, with the tide touching my feet. The soy sauce added a sweet blend of flavors; like the hot sun raisingthe temperature of the vast waters. Overall, the roll was excellent. The chicken teriyaki was phenomenal. I appreciated theseasoning of the meat, the presence but not overuse of the sauce, and the precise employment of the cucumbers. It was great, light, and powerful. My meal at Matsuri was excellent. The sushi was delicious and fresh, the soup failed to disappoint, andthe teriyaki was great. It?s not my favorite place in the area, but it?s damn good. Read more
