Being from NY, i had tried some awful bagels in LA. This place is actually the most New York bagel/deli ive seen so far. From... the bagels in baskets, to their bakery section?. I was into it. My everything bagel is as good as it gets in a state that is notNew York or Jersey. This place is also clean and new! I will be back for future bagels . Read more

Just dropped my rating from 5 to 4 stars. My 2nd experience not as great as my first below. While the bagels continue to be... great the breakfast sandwiches not so much. This time the bagels on the sandwich were barely toasted and the sandwich was a softdoughy limp mess which was not the case the first time. I ended up deconstructing the sandwich, throwing away the bagel andtoasting a new one at home. Next time no more sandwiches for me, I'll just get bagels and make the sandwich at home. Finally.Real bagels on the west coast. Ordered breakfast bagels and a bakers done. Upon pickup the breakfast bagels were toasted and thesandwich was warm. Later my son commented to me that the bagel he ate was one of the best bagels he has ever had. Crunchy anddense, not doughy and spongy. So glad to see real east coast bagels on the west coast. We usually go to Brent's but thought we'd give this place a try. It's no Brents. You enter the restaurant and immediately face... big screens with the menu, which is large and takes 4 screens to display. Unfortunately, the screens are constantly changing soyou can't really read the page before it changes. We asked at the ordering counter and were told to scan the QR code on thefront door and read the menu on our phones. Ultimately, we discovered that there were laminated menus taped to the counter atthe cash registers. Much better. Things that were good: The burger, fries, and fountain soft drinks. The burger comes on apuffy egg roll, so as long as you like those you'll be happy. Things that were OK: The toasted onion bagel that I got with thebagel with lox and cream cheese. Nothing to write home about, but totally fine. tip - order the sandwich deconstructed andassemble it yourself. The pastrami sandwich was also OK...nothing great but fine. The issue was the 'kaiser roll' - it wasthat same puffy egg roll, not a kaiser roll. Things that disappointed: The matzo ball soup and salad. The matzo ball was mushyand kind of sour tasting, strange. The garden salad came with a balsamic vinaigrette as the only option. Really. Finallythere's the New York knish. Awful. Inedible. Soggy on the bottom, mealy in the middle, and barely warm. I've had good NewYork knishes, and this missed the mark completely. We asked the person at the counter a few questions, and while she wasabsolutely pleasant, I didn't think that she really knew what New York deli food should be so we didn't bother her with theknish, just left it uneaten on the table. This place charges premium prices on par with places like Brent's, but does not offertable service, pickles and bread on the table, or, in our case, food that we would come back for. All in all a bigdisappointment. Read more
