We went for lunch today while we were busy with errands. It use to be one of our go to places not anymore. I went in hungry &... left hungry disappointed & upset...my order was simple but after they messed up as well as my boyfriend's order...at least theygot his right the second time mine was still all wrong. The manager offered to cook it himself but my boyfriend would have beendone eating before would have ever got it!...no thank. The manager apologized again & gave us a gift card. That was nice but mystomach is still empty...if we use the gift card it certainly will not be at the Winter Haven location...waitresses need tolisten...that waitress just lost that location a regular customer! Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on who you ask, near the end of 2021, Duke?s permanently closed their doors at the... St.Cloud location. We reviewed this restaurant a couple of months back and was asked by several followers to give it anotherchance. (Any time we are dissatisfied with a dinning experience we will patronize that restaurant three times before posting apublic review) This was out fourth time dinning at Duke?s. So here goes?.. We ordered Loaded Tater Tots and Parmesan and garlicboneless chicken. The LTT?s were really good but the boneless chicken was awful. There was no hint of garlic flavor. The greasewas an 1/8 of an once deep in the basket. This was the first time we had ?quick service?, so I will Commend Dukes on thisimprovement. The atmosphere of ?Dukes is the kind place you want to walk into and enjoy a cold beverage while you hang out awhile. But they are truly missing the mark. They used to be a great place to eat but it has gone down hill in the food area. The servers they used to have dressed well in... western style. Cowboy boots, button up shirts and cutoff short short jeans . Not the girls look like cheap streetwalkers. Itlike they try to cut them off like a thong. No manage quality it has become just a hang out for guys. Not a family sports bar. For quality has gone down. Prices gone up. Will not go back. We use to go there once a week but no more. Read more
Staff was very friendly and accommodating. My nachos was heavily salted. Small portion of side of fries with burger. Cute... presentation it came in a mini fryer basket, just not an ideal portion size. Come out on a Tuesday to enjoy their Trivia night. Read more
Been here several times, normally good value, but what I saw today at 8pm in there when the management was apparently not around... will cause me not to come back, ever. There was a customer with a full-grown pit bull at the bar window area who was beingallowed to have their dog at the window eating food off the plate with his paws and dog's face up on the food bar. This waswitnessed by all the servers on the floor and several customers, and here are the pictures. As time went by, the dog was allowedto have all four paws up on top of the bar. That is completely unacceptable in a food establishment. Totallyinappropriate. Pretty sure this is a basic HACCP violation. Dog is contaminating napkins and surfaces and employees aretouching it. Cross contamination hand washing issues, lots of liability brewing here. Enforce county and state health codes andget a policy to have no animals in the restaurant. That's something that's normally reserved for the animal nut weirdos inplaces other than Florida. I do not even eat at restaurants where they allow dogs to sit up at the eating surfaces. This was my third and final time at Duke?s. While the staff was heroic and trying to save a sinking ship the food is subpar and... it appears there are systemic quality control issues. I ordered fish and chips. I asked if it was catfish? Because at my priorvisit it was catfish served a product which I am personally revolted by. The host checked in the kitchen and said it was a whitefish It was what he stated. That?s where it ends. For $12.99 you get one thin piece of fish that I would describe as extremelyaverage and cold crinkle cut fries that were awful. The coleslaw an element critical to fish and chips and what I would considerbasic pub food was terrible it taste like warm coleslaw slathered in cheap mayonnaise it was an inedible edible.The host askedhow my meal was and I explained that the fries were cold Was not what I would consider suitable for fish and chips he said oh noproblem will get you some more. The problem was when they got me some more fries, they were cold also. I went ahead and paid formy meal rather than make the employees suffer for managements lack of ability to serve a meal that I personally believe is noteven half as good as long John silvers a fast food place. My previous visit was more than three years ago and while the food atthat visit was every bit as bad it?s hard to believe that since then it has gone downhill even further. I had a draft beer andit was cold. I think this is an example of a small business dying on the vine struggling with a dated concept. You can?t getaway with girls in shorts and cold beer anymore even hooters serves a superior product I don?t know who they think they?refooling? This was a disappointing experience because I want to support small businesses. But rather than serve second rate foodthe owners would do the community a favor by closing this place and having the building bulldozed for a parking lot somethingthat would actually be beneficial in the area Read more
Called a To-Go order and waited over an hour. What is pictured here is my $12 appetizer. Wasn't even half a cup full... sad. I... can understand the wait, but at least make my food right. Or at least give me more than half of what i ordered... ordered a sideof mashed potatoes w gravy and got cold hard fries. Not going here anymore.
