A friend and I decided to grab some breakfast quickly. We ordered biscuit with gravy and bacon. I ordered a sausage egg biscuit.... Our food was not that good. There was a certain taste in the sausage that we didn?t enjoy. I think it may have had too manyherbs in it. But from the looks of other customer?s orders, they looked real good. I don?t recommend anything sausage, insteadgo for waffles or something like that. Read more

Young Cardinal, what a great little downtown cafe. The food, location and hospitality was on point. I haven?t had an eggs... Benedict in a while and I saw they had a fried chicken version. Not only was the fried chicken the best combination of flavor, crispness and tenderness at the same time, but to add it to the other classic ingredients will be my new go to option. Theservice was great, coffee was hot and strong, and the bacon was perfectly crisp. Just an ideal way to start the day and a memoryI will have the next time I come east. Read more

So my boyfriend and I finally got up early enough on a Sunday to make it to Young Cardinal. We?ve been wanting to go for a while... now. We have heard great things and always see such a long line out the door when we drive by downtown. I highly suggest gettingthere before 9:30 am. We were seated outside per our request, and our server was so great and attentive. We ordered the 2specials to share: pork tenderloin benedict with bacon jam, and smoked salmon avocado toast with cucumbers, mango, goat cheese, and arugula. Let me tell you, the portions were huge and so delicious. The prices are a bit higher for some items on the menu, but others are incredibly reasonable. Our specials were on the higher end, but well worth it for the large portion sizes and thequality of ingredients. Our tab was under $40. Regardless of what you order, the food is beyond outstanding. The salmon on ourtoast was huge, and the craftsmanship that went behind the flavor pairings was absolutely amazing. It?s like pure art in yourmouth. An entire culinary experience to savor. The pork tenderloins on the benedict were cooked to perfection; so tender. Anddon?t even get me started on that bacon jam? something I could literally eat on everything. Their eggs are made so well. Somerestaurants don?t know how to make their eggs. You can definitely tell how good a breakfast/brunch place is by how well theymake their eggs. The fried egg on the toast was perfect, and the poached eggs on the benedict were also perfectly prepared. Justthe right amount of yolk. The type of toast they used for the avocado toast held up so well to all of the ingredients that weregenerously piled on. RUN, don?t walk, to Young Cardinal. Best brunch we?ve had from anywhere, to date. Read more

Very nice atmosphere when we walked in. The music was not too loud and seemed like a place to have a nice brunch. I got the... french toast and my husband got the avocado toast. He devowered his but mine came up short. The French toast were too wetinside and they remade it again to only come back still too wet for my liking. I also hade the grits and sausage gravy...amazing! I will come back and try other items on the menu but the french toast is a thumbs down for me. Read more
