I love coming to the Tavern in Old Salem at least once a season. The waiters/waitresses are always wonderful. The setting is one... of the best, if you love enjoying a meal in a beautiful historical environment. The food is amazing! I highly recommend theSunday Brunch, and their lunch menu is delicious as well. For desert, be sure to try their Gingerbread with Lemon Ice. It is thebest! Read more
Wonderful/wunderbar pot roast with mashed potatoes and green beans. Just baked love rolls and pumpkin muffins. And finish with... the gingerbread desert is our favourite. The service in the bar room was terrific at 11 am this morning. Perfect luncheon. Read more
The food is pretty good, but I think I like the atmosphere more. I like the historical aspect of the place and how the staff... dress up. I had the fried green tomato and pimento cheese sandwich and it was soooooo good. The tomato was thick sliced and the pimiento... cheese is not what you get at the store. It was thick and creamy with lots of flavor. Did I mention there was bacon too? Bacon!Bacon and fried green tomato and pimento cheese, it was delicious.
