This restaurant was very pricey, but in general pretty good. Waitstaff is excellent very friendly, prompt, and considerate. ... Food looks amazing. However we had to send my wife's plate back as it was extremely over salted. My lamb was served cold(itwas a hot dish on the menu) , but I didn't make a big deal out of it since my wife was a bit upset as it was an anniversary/birthday dinner. For the prices they are charging as a fine dining restaurant I would expect food to be served hot and thechef to have a feel for seasoning . Our waitress told us they had received multiple people's feedback that things were toosalty. Thus, the chef seems to feel it's fine and we are just wrong? Doesn't care? I'm not sure... Anyway as it was a priceyrestaurant for a special occasion we will try somewhere else next time unfortunately. Read more

We had a table of 6 for a retirement celebration. The building is beautiful. I was surprised were sat in a very dark corner... where the battery candles were not lit. It didn?t even seem busy due to bad weather. The appetizers were great. Due to size Iwould recommend the bread service and spreads. I ordered the seasonal mojito and it was very sweet my husband ended up finishingit. Food was delicious but portions small. Our server was excellent and made every effort to enhance the experience. We didturn on the candles but the batteries went out shortly after. Read more

Very historic house. Very spacious and well appointed staff. The food was very good, except the sweet potato laksa (soup) was so... salty, could not eat it. Wait staff is great and very accommodating as they served our party ???? of 20. It was a challengefor 3 older folks with walkers to get in or out, as they chose a route with one or two steps, but overall, lots of space & ADAcompliant restrooms. There is upstairs seating and service, but did not make it up there. The chef also sells a book withrecipes from this fine dining establishment. Read more

Maybe our expectations were too high. The first time I went to Spring House, it was fantastic. This time, not so much. We... were seated next to a room that was hosting a party. It was so loud that people from the party actually apologized to us. Ihad the steak, it was good, not great. My wife had the fish, and it was really good, but such a small portion! She rarely willfinish her meal before she is full, but she left hungry. Overall, for what we paid for our meal, we expect more. Read more

Chef and his team always impressive. Love this historic building, but food was the star of the night. Filet with bread pudding,... chicken, shrimp and grits, duck and apple pizza app. Read more

Amazing culinary experience at the Spring House Restaurant. The food resamples southern comfort food with a fine dinning twist,... paired with craft cocktails from attentive and skilled staff. I don't know another place that offers such high all around valueand experience. The setting and decor match the menu and quality of service. A must visit when in the triad. Read more

Tried Spring House for an early Valentine?s Day meal and left wishing we went somewhere else. Overall, disappointed for the... price we paid. The dishes sound unique on the menu, but then don?t follow through in taste at all. Mac and cheese was dry. Lambwas okay, but the feta and couscous tasted off. The duck was mediocre and something I could throw together at home for half theprice. Desserts were okay. The butter cake had a unique texture but the apple creme caramel was like bland flan with super chewy?fritters?. Honestly the only thing we actually enjoyed food-wise was the $5 bread basket. Service and ambiance were nice, butthe food not so much. The bar area looks unique and promising. May go back for drinks, different appetizers, and bread serviceonly, if at all. Read more

First time in a long while, and why haven't I been back sooner! Relaxed environment, inside one of the last historic mansions... open to the public in Winston, like dining at a baby Reynolda. Featuring a fantastic, seasonal tasting menu, and some of thebest cocktails I've had in a long time, excited to see what's next! Don't forget the bread sampler! Read more
