I used to go to Mr BBQ back in the '70s. They've done a refresh of the restaurant and they now have outside dining. The food... still taste great and I really love the hush puppies and the barbecue sauce. While you're outside you can smell the woodburning that they use to smoke the barbecue. Read more

My family and I were picking up an order. They gave us a box with a flimsy foil top. Immediately as a family member picked up... the box it began to leak and it burned my family members wrist and unfortunately the liquid began to run down their clothing. Weasked if they had anything larger to place the food in due to the fact it was full to the brim. Our question was ignored andthe worker picked up our order and proceeded to our car. It was of course still leaking and as we are deciding how to deal withsuch a poor "container" for the food the worker just walks away ignoring our concers. Another member of the family tried to putit into a plastic bag and they too were burned as a result of the awful "container " that. What a poor FIRST experience andmost certainly the LAST if this how they treat paying customers. Read more
Always fantastic BBQ and sides every time I come to Winston Salem. I tend to prefer the tomato based BBQ sauce of my side of... NC, but they have the best vinegar based BBQ sauce I've ever had. Drinks are always properly carbonated, and their pies are theperfect dessert. Love this place! Read more
We stopped here for the first time while shopping in the area hoping to get good BBQ and man was it delicious. I got a BBQ... sandwich with slaw and a side of hush puppies while my wife got a flounder sandwich and collard greens as a side. Everything wasexcellent including the service. We also bought 2 containers of Brunswick stew that we ate for dinner that same night and it wasthe best Brunswick stew we ever had. We can't wait to go back. Read more
