Reviews for Jimmy the Greek Coliseum in Winston-Salem, NC
I had a great breakfast of grits, 3 eggs, and liverpudding with toast and coffee. Very inexpensive. The service was great and so... was the atmosphere. Read more
The service pulled my rating from 1 star up to 3 stars. The wait staff and register were friendly and attentive. The spaghetti... my friend ordered had store bought meatballs and over toasted Texas Toast. His salad was old and wilted. He only ate a fewbites. My ribeye was brown throughout instead of medium rare, very dry, and extremely salty. My dinner rolls were hard. Mywhole corn and pickled beats were excellent. Maybe helpful suggestions: Buy thicker and better marbleized cuts of steak, letthe customer apply salt to their liking. Thicker steaks are much easier to cook to perfection. Ensure your lettuce is fresh andcrunchy. Read more
Yummy as always! Friendly staff lovely environment. My usual plate of cheese grits, cheese eggs, and fish with toast was good!... I'm going for grilled shrimp next time! Read more
I arrived around 8:50am. There were about 8 tables with people. I was promptly greeted by a friendly cashier who told me I could... sit wherever. I chose a booth. When I sat down, I smelled something that smelled so good but I have no idea what it was. Mywaitress came over at 8:54am and took drink order. I got a water with lemon, which came in a plastic cup. The waitress didn?tintroduce herself, which is sadly a normal occurrence when I?ve dine in at restaurants lately. Each table had menus on it. Theyweren?t the cleanest. After reviewing the menu, and asking for advice, I ordered at 9am. I got the house special, which thewaitress said was the most popular. I got 3 scrambled eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, toast, and a pancake. The pancake comes regularbut I added strawberry on top. (Note: The blueberries are NOT fresh. They are pie filling. The strawberries are fresh). My foodcame at 9:08am. The food was beautifully plated! The bacon was a little chewy; kinda seemed like it wasn?t fresh. I added pepperand salt to my eggs but it wasn?t bad alone. I liked the toast as it was buttery. I enjoyed the pancakes but I wish they were alittle softer. I ended up getting full. I didn?t finish my pancakes or the toast lol. Per my receipt, Vicki was my waitress. The service was good. I got my food pretty quickly too. I must add that you DEFINITELY get your moneys worth! I got all the foodI did for only $8.50, which is awesome! I definitely plan on returning and I recommend you do too! Read more
I had Shrimp & Grits and it was very tasty! I was surprised when the waitress said ? these are not your normal S&G ? do you eat... pork? ? I said yes and she placed my order. The salty-ness of the ham and bacon ???? flavored the grits pretty well. I liked thetexture of the grits after a few bites. The shrimps were a great size and were cooked to perfection. Overall the dish wasdelicious and I would order again but i?d ask for less salt if possible. Good experience with the service, comfortable and hometown feeling. Read more
The Jimmy the Greek Experience (Call In - Pick-Up Edition). On this day I wanted a greek salad. Jimmy the Greek was not far, so... I called in and placed an order for their Greek Plater that comes with Gyro and chicken souvlaki on a bed of rice with a Greeksalad and a choice of a side. I ordered a salad instead of rice and asked for a double salad. The individual I spoke with waspleasant, and I did not feel rushed while placing my order, and they provided a 10 to 15-minute pick-up time. Once I arrived,my food was ready, but I guess I walked into something because I heard the individuals at the counter talking about "How theywere not going to be checking people's boxes." After paying, I checked my food before leaving. Staff had already let the cat outof the bag by saying what they were not going to do. I glanced, but once home and ready to eat, I noticed I had NO FETA CHEESEon my greek salad! How is this a greek salad without feta?? They seasoned the chicken so well, but the Gyro meat was on thethin side but still tasty. The salad was just a salad to me. Not greek without feta cheese. The tzatziki sauce was good, not toorunny or too thick. The pita bread was nice and warm. Overall this would have been a bomb plate if I had feta cheese on mysalad! So would I return Jimmy the Greek? I would return because they have a large selection of food items. If in a largeparty, everyone can eat from their menu. Nevertheless, next time I order a greek salad, I will be asking if feta comes on it.Although the customer service was good on the telephone, the same energy is necessary on the floor. This establishment is notthat big, and ears are not that far apart to talk about customers, anything personal, or anything disparaging. Read more
The reviews seem to be not there great. My husband and I love Gyros and they had amazing gyros with a side Greek salad. The... Greek dressing was tasty. The Tzatziki was on point with the flavor. My little one wanted chicken tenders and these as well werebetter than most other restaurants. I would have enjoyed these myself. Read more
Y'all! This is THE place to go for wings and waffles. The biggest and BEST tasting wings anywhere in the state! Sweet chili... Thai is the one to try and my go to fav. Cool atmosphere, hilarious waitresses who recognize us whenever we get to go, andalways takes care of us. It's a little hole in the wall, unassuming, but definitely worth it! Read more
