Reviews for A Slice of Napoli in Winston-Salem, NC
Delicious NY style pizza with affordable prices! I got the large pizza with two toppings for takeout, and I couldn't wait to... get home before devouring three slices in the car! The cheese was gooey and salty, the garlic was spicy and tasty, the basiladded the extra flavor boost, and the crust was crunchy! That was such a wonderful, delicious experience without going to NYfor! I hope that my review will let local foodies know how great this place is. I especially hope A Piece of Napoli willcontinue to deliver the best quality of food without raising the prices. Read more
The food is so good. But outside of the food being good, the staff is spectacular. From the person who took our order (Chris) to... the owner (Daniel). They work as a team. No job is too big or too small for a person. Everyone pitches in to make sure thattheir customers have an amazing dining experience. Whether they're eating in or taking it out. I had the Chicken Philly and it'sthe best I've had in Winston, hands down! What took the cake, Chris even brought our to-go pizza out to us. My husband and I hadwalked to Ollie's to make a quick purchase. And when he brought the pizza out he looked and saw us walking from Ollie's and metus in the parking lot. I was very impressed with that young man! We will be back. Read more
I have been ordering pizza from here for a few months and it has been delicious! Best pizza in town. Especially the Sicilian.... But the last two times we ordered it, it was horrible. This has been in the last two weeks. The dough tastes stale, theingredients don?t seem as fresh. It is a totally different experience from the past. I don?t know if there is someone newcooking or new management or what, but the quality is not the same. I wanted to give them another try, because we all have baddays, but this was two different experiences two weeks apart. ??????????? Update: FOOD IS AMAZING AGAIN! ???? Read more
4-6-22 Hubs and I went here today for lunch and proceeded to eat ourselves into a blissful coma. Brad was our server and he was... so nice, accommodating and efficient. I ordered the small steak and cheese Stromboli and asked for it to be fried. Hubs orderedthe large regular Stromboli, also fried and we had french fries as an appetizer. Daniel, the owner, stopped by our table andmade the suggestion to switch to calzones, since we wanted them fried. He said the combination of mozzarella and ricotta meltedtogether were.. (this is where he made a face that perfectly conveyed deliciousness)?so we both changed our order. Hubs wentwith the large ham, cheese, ricotta and mozzarella and I changed to the small, sliced sausage, ricotta and mozzarella. Thecrinkle fries were great and nicely seasoned. But let me tell you, when the calzones hit the table? Geez Louise! Daniel let ustake pictures before he cut them. You can see from the pictures that they were a beautiful golden brown, sprinkled with pepperand Parmesan cheese. The only thing better than their appearance was the taste. I am not exaggerating when I say they tastedlike heaven on earth. Daniel said in Napoli, the fried calzones are considered ?street food? and they are eaten like asandwich. We cut ours into wedges and did just that. The crispness, the smooth creamy cheeses and the meat were such a fantasticcombination. The marinara offers the perfect edge to the richness and it?s so good, I could eat it with a spoon. We sharedwedges and took half of the large and a third of the small, as leftovers. While we waited on the box, I ended up cutting thecrust edge off of mine and ate it plain. It was like a savory donut. They really could fry that crust then toss in cinnamon andsugar for a dessert. (Daniel: hint, hint) We also ordered a Sicilian pizza to go. Because Daniel?s calzone advice was so spoton, we asked him to do a Chef?s Choice. He told us he chose sausage, peppers, onions, mushrooms and extr Read more
Came for a Yelp Elite event, left as a new regular customer for the quality. Ordered a large sausage and pepperoni topping... pizza, minestrone soup, the regular calzone, and tiramisu. Upon ordering at Napoli, I felt welcomed as they'd given me theirundivided attention as staff and, who I assume was the owner, guided me through their popular choices as I was figuring out whatto order. Brought the pizza home to my family who raved about how great they thought it tasted. From the generously distributedtoppings to the thoughtfully constructed dough it sat on, each slice holding the contents on it well. The dough is just sturdyenough while maintaining its delicious crispy exterior and fluffy warm interior. The minestrone soup was very saucy andgenerously filled with ingredients. My hubby, craving a calzone, was not left disappointed. Stuffed with ham, mozzarella, andricotta cheese it was the best calzone he's had in a long time. It was enjoyed with a generous side of marinara sauce. Usually, these are offered in tiny cups, but this was larger than typical, which we appreciate as we love our marinara sauce. Lastly, the tiramisu was sooo good! It was super light and airy in texture, but explosive in rich, creamy flavors. A Slice of Napolihas now become one of our favorite pizza places in the Triad. Will definitely put these guys on our pizza list speed dial. Read more
The A Slice of Napoli Experience (Walk-in Edition). Unable to determine my taste buds, I ventured to A Slice of Napoli. Upon... entering, someone working the counter greeted me and asked me if I knew what I wanted to order. After glaring at their specialson a board near the counter, I picked up a menu and selected their Turkey and Cheese sub. I waited in the dining area for myfood, and it did not take long before someone brought it out to me. Once home, I dived into my food. I can appreciate A Sliceof Napoli putting my sub in a takeout box versus wrapped in foil, and it also came with a bag of chips. The sub as a whole wasok and the bread was delicious. I would have liked thinner sliced onions and shredded lettuce. I would have selected a differentchip if there were other options or flavors. Would I return? I would return to try their pizza. Service was not bad, and theyare a new establishment in the area. So I'm all about supporting local business, especially now in the era of COVID. Read more
Best pizza place in the Winston-Salem area so far. My wife and I have tried about 4 or 5 different ones and so far this one has... had the best flavor. They are family owned, VERY friendly, and the food was piping hot and fresh. Even the appetizer wings wegot were made to order right then for us. The dough for their pizza is excellent and was cooked perfectly. I have no complaintswhatsoever! We will definitely become new regulars! Read more
