Great establishment! Good food, better staff, and even better times. Alyssa is a easily the best bartender I've ever had. Funny,... relatable and polite. We moved to the area a couple months ago and tried this restaurant. Our family of 5 all love it and make a regular place to... relax and eat. The portions are very large, the quality of the food its perfect. My favorite is the potato skins, other familyfavorites are, Irish nachos, meat pie, pizza and a few others. We have never been disappointed. The environment is a pub settingand we find it very relaxing. Read more
The place was not very busy. There was seven at the table and the server did an excellent job looking after everyone's requests.... We ordered a variety of menu items, the fish and chips were very good, the chicken fingers were also very good. Everyone wasvery happy with their food and the portions were generous. Came into a somewhat busy atmosphere. Sat down and didn't wait too long to be greeted by our server how ever there was no smile... or eye contact she did not look like she wanted to be there which seemed to be the trend among all staff. My partner ordered adrink I said I needed a minute and would have water for the moment. Ordered our food upon the servers return. Had to wait forthem to return to order a drink. Not a huge deal. Food came quickly and was good. Nice hot and a good portion. We were notoffered a second round of drinks, we were not offered additional water. Food plates were empty and drinks were empty. No returnfrom the server for a while. Instead we watched her taking shots with the clientele at the bar. Meanwhile we would have hadanother round. When she came back we took the bill and went else where. This was a let down in compair is on to our previousexperiences at the west St. Paul location. Read more
It's burger week, and Thirsty Lion brought a burger, between deep fried mac and cheese. You can grip it if you want the classic... satisfaction of preparing to unhinge your jaw and taking a bite of ths solid, massive, true to photo (unlike certain places, mydig at Kyu Bistro experience, tch...), burger. It was delicious, the burger was satisfying in all ways burger patties should be,generously portioned, juicy, and flavourful, and for me, not too salty. The mac and cheese tasted real xD, so overall a greatexperience! The onion rings qere not too greasy and still crunchy! The poutine was a mistaken order, though not taken forgranted, as they let us keep it, and it wasn't too bad, but like all poutine faults for me, the cheese curds wasn't it (But onlybecause I had the best cheese curds from Montréal, and I could not be satisfied since, will not deduct stars, as they werestill delicious and the gravy was great), and gave us our order of delicious kettle chips, nice and simple, with pretty greatsauce. The service was super awesome, the ladies were very attentive and prompt! And as previously noted, Google should reallyallow for 0.5 reviews... like I don't want to take a whole point off because of this place's weird "Sit yourself".... What isthat? How would they know that a person just sat? And how long they could have been waiting for? I understand if it's the seatsright along the bartender, but how about a busy dining room? So, true review. We went in with a large group of around 20, after a family funeral. 80% of our group was hearing impaired, and Peter, our server... was fantastic, handled all with ease and missed nothing! The food was great! Read more
