09/10/2022 Tried this for the first time at the Bomber game. Just before we ordered we had to wait as there was fresh lettuce... coming. We were then told there was no lettuce so what would we like to order. I ordered a chicken shawarma, no hot sauce. Itwas very disappointing it was basically a wrap with very little filling. All dough no filling. I understand that it?s hard tokeep the fillings In stock but really there are at least to locations at IG Field and just because the game was a sellout it?sreally no excuse to be out of fillings. I also found the price of $13 bucks on the expensive side for what you get. I only ate apart of the wrap. When I got home my wife ate the rest of the wrap and her comment was ?there?s no filling.? Stayed in Winnipeg for a few days but overall the food exp has been quite sad. Unfortunately the chicken shawarma was very bland... and had almost no flavor or seasoning. Service was decent but sadly the food was dry. Winnipeg convinced me TO has much betterfood. Read more
Before I delve into the not-so-great aspects of this restaurant, I want to appreciate the restaurant staff who attended to me.... She was very kind and thoughtful. She saw that I liked the salads and decided to give me 10% off. Unfortunately, The qualityof this restaurant has deteriorated so much. I spent over $20 on a quick bite here and nothing tastes good! I got the Taboulehsalad thought I would love it but it actually doesn?t taste great. I usually use quinoa as part of my Tabouleh recipe, but I?mnot sure what was used as a replacement here at Shawarma Khan. Whatever it was, it is not as tasty as quinoa in a Tabouleh. Thechickpea salad is also not great-very salty. Goodness, I?m so disappointed! Worst of all was the shawarma. It was so soggy! Ihad to open it up and eat it as a meal, but still all that was salvageable was the meat, onions and pickles. The remainingveggies were so soggy. I?ve had Shawarma here before and it wasn?t this terrible. Other places in the city serve bettershawarma, I recommend trying others as opposed to this one. I am unhappy because of the services. The food was so-so. I ordered an 10.99$ kabab plate. But they made a mistake, charged me... for 13.49$ as beef plate. Beef plate is larger than kabab plate. I went to my car to eat, and noticed the mistake. I asked for arefund, he gave me 1.5$ coins. I was confused. Even we don't include tax, 10.99+1.5=12.49. So I didn't leave. He gave me another1$ coin, said this should be enough. So I left, but still unhappy. The small price difference is not so important to me. Peoplemake mistake, I understand. Chicken shawarma plate Beef and lamb shawarma plate Tried their food at the downtown location, always loved their... flavour. This location which is close to u of m keeps up the good quality of food, price is reasonable but portion can belarger. Will definitely come back. I got shawarma Khan for my birthday again this year. Last time I got the meats on a separate tray, the salads in separate... containers, the pitas in separate container/tray. Flavour, presentation, food... Was amazing. This time again for mybirthday... I was extremely disappointed; everything was mixed. The salads were mixed! You don't mix the salads because then theseparate flavours become one. The pitas were already assembled which in other middle Eastern restaurants you can have the choiceof eating separate. The pitas/wrap themselves did not have enough meat in them and was falvourless. When I arrived to pick upthe food a staff member kindly gave us extra garlic sauce; which was great and my favourite... When I got home... The famousgarlice taste... NOT THERE. Last time for my birthday they gave a side if beets too... The food was purchased at the Pembinalocation. It should be a crime for food to taste this good. The tabouleh is amazing and I'm fairly certain the white "garlic sauce" was... made by angels. Highly recommend! Read more
