When phoning for reservation, Brett was great, very friendly and accommodating us we had 2 wheelchair people in our party. No... problem on our arrival, service was very slow at the beginning. Food was delicious, the 3 pulled pork tacos were filled withcoleslaw, cheese and nice bbq flavoured pulled pork. The Cubano was also delicious and generous amount of fresh cut fries. Thatwent the same for the pretzel bun Classic burger. The brussel sprouts were very nicely seasoned and the macaroni and cheese I'mtold was good. Deep fried dill pickle was not for us, the pickle is warm and soft. We agreed we prefer a crisp pickle! Priceswere good and I did not notice any shrinkflation happening here! Service was friendly. Food was good, but service was slower as there was only one server. They were out of two items that we tried to order as well.
My husband went here last night for their take on a poutine. When we got there, the decor was gorgeous! I love the pictures of... old, classic Winnipeg. The staff was phenomenal! So far, I had tried 3 poutines from different establishments and this is by farmy favorite! My only complaint? I would have liked more mushrooms....... because you can't go wrong with this mushroom mix! Read more
Been here twice, hasn't disappointed. Good service and the food is awesome. Very impressive chicken breast perfectly cooked,... ribs were smokey, delicious and fall off the bone. Our favorite though, is the Bison Mac and Cheese burger, it's amazing and amust try. Read more
Went to Saddlery yesterday for the Ciao Dine About Winnipeg event with a couple friends. Chose the potato leek soup to start.... Hearty and savory with bacon. Had the surf and turf for my entree. Steak was perfectly cooked at medium rare. Dessert wasabsolutely delicious! An apple toffee cake with caramel sauce. Yum! Read more
(From December 2016) It's in the old don Pedro/pink taco location. They have definitely made the space beautiful. It's gorgeous... and bright. I use to feel it was kind of dirty but now it's very comfortable. The food items were good, but I wasn't wowed bywhat we ordered. My expectations were high because of the visual perhaps? The bison nachos is very generous in size. The macand cheese was very creamy. The mussels were good, larger than thermea ones for sure. The desserts were very much in the okcategory. I liked the size, but I'm also not fond of coconut and it turned out 2/3 had it. So it might just not be my tastepreference. The carrot cake was the best... Possibly because it didn't have coconut, i did eat all that piece. I liked thevanilla ice cream on the center. Not a really high end dessert but ok if you want some variety in the end. At the same time I'mnot sure if this restaurant is trying to be that high end. The tea selection is bad. Higgens and Burke (typical of a lot ofrestaurants, but I don't agree with it). Not much for non alcoholic drinks considering they have a full bar, so it seems likethey can make most bar drinks but you won't find specialty ones so much like what we had at the roost. They are still workingout the kinks. Talked to management. The staff was exceptionally friendly on our visit. The space is so nice, I do hope theyimprove the non alcoholic section so I can have a nice drink there. Read more
Terrible service. The waitress gave us the bill while we are still eating the main course without even asking us whether we... wanted the bill or not - amongst other things. We wanted coffee and desert after. Our bookings are always for 5:30, so, it noteven peak hour… That will be the last time we go there since we keep giving them a chance and the service keeps going down.The male server is just as bad.
