Memorable Anniversary Evening! Wow were we ever so lucky to have had such a lovely anniversary dinner. My husband and I haven?t... gone out for dinner together for two years (blame the pandemic and a set of twin babies) so we were really looking forward tothis. The return phone call to book our table was both friendly and professional. The table in the train car was lovely and wehad an excellent server. I ordered the special: a salmon steak on fettuccini pasta with mussels, my husband had the seafoodrisotto. Both were absolutely delicious. I also ordered a salad and our meals came with bread and an oil/balsamic dip. We alsoshared a slice of white chocolate cake from the dessert cart. I had a Bordeaux wine and Spanish coffee and my husband had twoold fashions. Everything was excellent. I also really enjoyed reading about the history of the train station and car. The insideof the station was done nicely and next time we will try dinning there for a change. We both feel very lucky that we had such agreat experience as it took a lot of planning to get out of the house and we were really looking forward to that?get-away-vacation? type feeling. Resto Gare turned out to be the perfect choice for us and we are looking forward to visitingagain as soon as possible. Read more

Probably the best Chicken Cordon Bleu to ever visit my facehole. That sauce... I'd put that on everything! If you don't get the... duck fat roasted potatoes, you're making a mistake. Great ambience. The Patio, you almost feel like you're on a terasse inMontréal as opposed to Winnipeg. Read more

I was really excited to finally visit this place. Meals were good, very classic, nice portion/price ratio. However I don't know... if it was because they are trying to keep it classic, but all three mains that I ordered were served with the same sides;potatoes (grilled or smashed) with steamed carrots and broccolini which felt lazy. It would have been nice to have avariety. In general I had a good experience, I was attracted to the restaurant because of their train car dining space, whichneeds some care. Food wise it's good, but there is room for improvement, thought, and updates. I would think of this place moreof a Bresserie (not that they brew any beer) but not a Bistro, based off their menu style and prices. Read more

A fantastic bit of Winnipeg's culture, and delightfully french fine dining. The restaurant is a train smushed into the old train... station, with every bit of its interior and exterior oozing with character. Cozy carpeteting, china cups and crystalchandeliers. They reportedly get packed on live jazz nights. Read more
