Always fresh coffee beans here and always go here when we run out. I wish they have a light roast, with fruity flavors. Their... light-medium roast selections are still a bit too dark for my everyday, but it never disappoints. Great place and kind staff! Read more

I am a decaf-only coffee drinker, and after tying dozens of different brands of decaf, Black Pearl has, hands down, the best... decaf coffee blends I have found. With Extremely friendly service, and quality fresh coffee, the price is more than worth it. Read more

I make my own espresso at home. I've visited more than 10 different places to buy fresh coffee beans during the pandemic years,... and this place is the best. I would say, the price is amazingly reasonable compared to the quality of the beans, and the serviceis also lovely! I can make really good sturdy espresso shots with the coffee from this place. Happy that I finally find theplace for my coffee! Read more

I don't normally leave reviews, but this place needs it. I'm a lifelong daily coffee drinker, and this is hands down the best... coffee I've ever had. The first time I went, the owner walked me through my tastes and preferences until he picked out what isstill my favorite coffee I've ever had. I've been buying bags to give away to people I know just to spread the goodnessaround. If you're considering this place, go. It will not dissapoint. Read more

Location and Exterior: Exciting the car, instantly you smell a distinct smell of roasting coffee. the neighborhood seems a... touch odd and maybe unsavoury to some, the building is well maintained, and very fitting in appearance. I felt comfortablegoing here. There was plenty of parking when I stopped here, and the was clearly marked reserved store parking. I was here ona Saturday. Interior: Smells of coffee. While small, it was organized very nicely. Lots of the product was behind thecounter, which was fine. You can't really see much more than that. I was hoping to maybe catch a glimpse of some roastingequipment, but you can't see any of that from the front store. That's ok though. The staff: upon entering the store, I wasinstantly offered coffee. Very nice! The staff were great, and the one I was speaking with was able to make suggestions. Being new to the specialty coffee market, that's all I need right now. She was very polite, and the other fellow working seemedequally the same. I was there with my son, whom they made up a small sample of steamed milk for him. He was happy they didn'tignore him. The product: Before leaving, I purchased a latte. The price was reasonable. The latte was something I nevertasted before. I'm not sure if there was any thing added to it, but it had a very unique flavor. I also had purchased somechocolate covered beans, which to my suprise tasted excellent, and very addicting. If you buy any, check your teeth afterbefore going into public, you do end up looking like you drank a cup of coffee grounds. The coffee, I purchased a bag of thehouse blend, and a bag of an Ethiopian variety after doing some sort research on the internet prior to visiting. I have usedthe house blend in my Moka pot at home, which was very nice with milk. I have also used the Ethiopian coffee in my French presswhich I'm drinking as I type this review. Its also very good. The first thing I notice about the coffee is how much it Read more

Let's put it this way, the black pearl is one of the few places that will get me into the northend. Without question this is a... fantastic roasting shop that knows what they're doing. The rotation of products are such that there often something new to tryand enjoy. The staff are absolutely lovely and always offer a shot of the house leftover, which is fantastic in it's own right.A pound of black pear has been a regular holiday gift for years. Read more
