We were supposed to go to Alena Rustic Italian restaurant back in late March to celebrate my birthday. Unfortunately my son... came down with Covid on my birthday and the rest of the family came down with it over the next two days. Since then I have beenlooking forward to enjoying a meal at Alena. We combined my birthday with our anniversary. The dining experience exceeded ourexpectations as the food was tremendous. The garlic bread knots with the marinara sauce was amazing. The spaghetti bolognesewas delicious and I added a few of the wild boar and beef meatballs. My wife had the Chicken Mushroom Papardelle and she saidit was very good. Our daughter had the Bacon Tomato Basil Rigatoni and she loved it. Our son who is a very picky eater lovedthe Chef’s Special of a 12oz Rib Eye that was cooked perfectly. We will definitely be back. Looking forward to it. Hopefully it won’t be as long a wait. Read more
Tried last night on a date night with fiance after a friend recommended it. Never heard of Alena before and glad he did because... it was absolutely amazing from start to finish. Had prawns and garlic knots as appetizer, a pizza and the spun chicken and thesignature cocktail. Everything was delicious and waiter was great. Will be back and recommend it forward to try. 4 stars for service and ambiance. 2 stars for food. The calamari and pizzas tasted like they came from a fast food restaurant.... The calamari was greasy and bland. Pizza was tasteless, and we were put off by their offer of adding powdered parmesan cheese onour pizzas! Gross. Read more
I believe Alena is the best wood fired grill restaurant in Winnipeg. From exceptional service to amazing, simple food you... won’t be disappointed. All this and competitive pricing. The great wine selection easily pairs with all menu items. Don’t beafraid to ask what wine goes with what as their waiters and waitresses are well trained in this area. My daughter loves goinghere as the Chef will go out of his way to make a small spaghetti and meatball for her stuffed animal (special thanks out toBrian). So happy I got to try their famous wood-fired pizza! Service was excellent and the food was reasonably priced. We went for the... grilled fish but unfortunately they were all sold out. Pasta was al dente! Read more
The food at this place was amazing. We ordered some appetizers, pizzas, wine and dessert. The service was top notch. I would... recommend this restaurant toy friends. We have ordered take out a few times and were never disappointed. We have now gone three times to dine in and have been so... happy with the service and the excellent quality of food. I am trying to work my way through the menu. We are so excited tohave this new addition to Charleswood. You have to try the garlic knots! My husband gets the Tres Carne pizza and loves it. The pizza and knots remind us of our favourite pizza place in Vegas. We have taken friends and they have all liked it as well. Read more
