Petite and chic Italian dining, with cool vibe and nice ambiance. Hip bar, intimate seating in open room with plenty of windows.... Great pasta, so good we forgot to take a photo! We had a ravioli ?like? homemade pasta with a spinach cheese filling in a lightred sauce, tasty and lovely. We shared that entree, the fennel salad and tuna tartar appetizer which were both excellent. Thebread needed to get up to speed with the food. Dessert was a very small scoop of coffee gelato while good, tiny! Excellentservice and the owner who is from Italy works the room greeting guests. We arrived early so we could have a conversation but theopen room is loud as the tables steadily filled. Make a reservation and plan on spending $$$$$$$. Prices were high, we each hadtwo glasses of wine and shared the dinner for a cost, with tip, of about $100 per person. Special occasion dining, lovelysurroundings, excellent waitstaff. Read more

The owner of this restaurant is so rude towards families. They need to learn the basics about the hospitality space and making... your customers feel welcome. We have dined in the most exclusive restaurants in the world with our well-mannered children, andin such establishments it?s never been an issue. Not giving this business my money. I almost never write reviews, but I havebeen repeatedly shocked at the owner?s disrespectful attitude towards families. This needs to be shared so others are warned. Read more

We tried to go with the family and didn?t even succeed in getting seated. The owner (?!) was extremely rude and passive... aggressive throughout. This man thinks he?s above the guests and I truly believe he?d prefer admiring his empty restaurant thanhaving to deal with customers. A few examples: Sunday, 11:40 am with about two guests in the restaurant he insisted if we had areservation. Really? Then we asked for a high chair for our toddler, which he declined and said they didn?t have. Oh, becausethere are no families in Winnetka, right? Finally, he waved us out of the restaurant and told us to go somewhere else. That wasof course great guidance and we had a nice meal at 501 Local next door. So, in the end, he deserves five stars for saving us aterrible experience. Thank you! Read more

First time visiting Tocco. The owner Bruno greeted us at the door with a big smile and personality to die for. The restaurant... is chic and had great energy. The 4 of us were excited to start the night off with drinks that were spectacular! Ladiesordered margaritas and the gentleman ordered beer and Martinis. Started with the calamari appetizer that was very tasty! Fordinner we ordered the prosciutto fungi Pizza that was spectacular. It was prepared perfectly! We also ordered the pasta withtruffle cream sauce and Parmesan Risotto. It was so tasty that we decided to book another reservation in October! Thank youagain for the amazing experience and look forward to telling all our friends and joining you again. Read more

Tonight I got lectured by the owner in front of my grandpa on his 87th birthday for not liking my pasta dish. As someone who... works in the restaurant industry I was shocked at this inappropriate treatment. I am disappointed to say that my first Italiandining experience back in America after 8 months of living in Florence was far from the authentic Italian hospitality I loved somuch. Read more

Had a terrible experience there on June 17th. My wife made a reservation to celebrate my birthday with family. She confirmed... twice that we would be sitting out side in the patio area. They confirmed twice that, yes we will be sitting outside. All sixof us get there at time of reservation and were told that our table was ready inside. My wife told the person at the front thatshe made and confirmed reservation outside. The hostess proceeded to go get the owner who said that they do not takereservations for outside. When we told him that we called twice to confirm outside, he proceeded to tell us that we should gosomewhere else. We have never been treated so rudely in all of our times eating out, which is about 4 times a week. Weproceeded to go down the street to 501 Local, which was fabulous and we were treated with utmost respect. Highly recommend 501Local over Tocco. Will never send anyone there on the way that we were treated. Read more
