The escargot was amazing, the sauce complimented the baked bread amazingly. The mini beef Wellington was so delicious and... tender, the gravy was really good too. The crab cakes definitely had real crab. The beef soup was delightful but the beef piecesfelt like little steaks. The lamb ribs were exquisite. The apricot complimented the lamb very well. Read more
My friend and I went here as I was long overdue from the pandemic. Missed the coziness and the food of this restaurant which is... in an old house. Having the crab cakes to start off. I also noticed the steak n potato soup which is a must try if you aretired of salads. Also I had the salmon which was cooked to perfection. My friend had a sirloin steak and it was expertly cooked.If you want a warm friendly atmosphere and a meal that you can eat what you paid for I would recommend this place. Being here ona Saturday brings regular menu prices. However, there is a price fixed menu Sunday to Thursday. Also a banquet room in backthat can take care of celebrations. Read more
Nice atmosphere, a little dark inside at times, great if you're a beef lover, ordered the chicken Oscar this time , very moist... , right out of the oven , needed a bit more seasoning , service was wonderful can't wait to try the pumpkin spicecheesecake! If I could rate it 7 stars or even more I would. Everything about this place is just so damned good. The food, the drinks and... the staff are all top tier. Shout out to Adrian who looked after us and made the recommendations for all of our meals. Thetenderloin steaks were absolutely some of the most delicious I've had, and the sauces they were topped with were just fantastic.The blue cheese crust in particular was a personal favorite. The sides....just unreal. Risotto, scalloped potatoes and mac ncheese...try them all! If we didn't live 3 hours away this would be a regular weekly spot without a doubt. I came here two weekends in a row with different family members. Each experience was outstanding - from the service of the... waiters, to the consistency and flavours of the food. So delicious ! This was our first visit to Take Five Bistro Windsor . From the road it looked closed and like a humble sandwiche... shop. Don't be fooled, it was open. Inside it is pretty and sophisticated with gentle, unobtrusive music. It was chilly andraining outside so I had French Onion Soup ~ hot, properly simmered and flavoured, a generous amount of onions, bread, andcheese. My husband started with the Beet Salad ~ a very nice twist on salad, delicious goat cheese balls, nutritious beets. Mymain was a medium rare Filet Mignon with bacon-jam and cheese. Oh my goodness, this was super delicious, tender, perfectlygrilled, and an amazing combination of flavours. Usually when we go out at least one thing will go wrong with our meal orservice . It was our first time at take five and it won’t be our last. For a couple who works multiple jobs, we don’t get out much.... This was our first fine dining date night in years. From the minute we walked in we were greeted promptly and seated at theperfect two-top near the window. Everything from the ambiance, lighting and music pulled us in. Our server Brad was exceptional.The minute we walked in he greeted us and after finding out it was our first time walked us through the menu and was there toanswer any questions we had. We’re used to being the servers not being served, and Brad was attentive as well as veryknowledgeable about the menu and drinks served. I was torn between a few options and asked his option and I’m glad I did. Thewhite cheddar bacon filet was like heaven in your mouth. I thought I’d go for the 9oz in hopes to take leftovers home but bythe time I was done my plate was bare. We finished off with a strawberry flambe with ice cream and left full andsatisfied Coming from a couple who works multiple jobs and doesn’t get out much, it was an amazing experience.
