Reviews for Heimat Windsor Banquet Centre in Windsor, ON
The best comfort food and beer in the city. 10/10 atmosphere and service. A true Canadian authentic german Biergarten.
Stopped in for the Carousel of Nations Bavarian Village. Very nice Biergarten. Schnitzel was very tasty.
The folks who own Heimat, have made a SOLID commitment to being one of the best places in Windsor. Not only is the food GREAT,... but the improvements , such as new outdoor chairs, heaters…even new WINDOWS on their building, are SO obvious. There was a 3pc., band playing traditional music…that was not loud enough to drown out patrons conversations. Beer selections arewonderful..and the “ sauerkraut balls”, are killer! Make your reservation….looks like they’ll do tables for 8, 10, even12 guests! We were a table of 6…what a great evening! ?? Read more

Such a great place to come with family and friends to enjoy really great German beer and food. Soft pretzels are delicious and... they have some really good Shcnitzel, sausage, sauerkraut, potato salad, it's all delicious. Make sure you check the weatherbecause seating is outside, but the owner states in a pinch he could set something up in the banquet hall if it were to rain. Read more

I brought my wife here after discovering Heimat via a Facebook post. Having spent time in Germany, I was very excited to see... German-style cuisine offered here in town. The owner, Ryan, and his staff, were very accommodating, and the venue was veryimpressive! A former church, they have turned the side-yard into a Biergarten, the main area is now a Bierhall that they use forbanquets, as well as viewing for Soccer matches, and a Bierkeller in the basement. The Bierkeller is a smaller and more intimatespace, and was perfect for our needs. The menu gave some wonderful options, leaning heavily into various Schnitzel dishes, andone of the best sauerkraut salads I've ever had. I ordered the Jagerschnitzel (pork schnitzel with a hunter's brown mushroomsauce) with a side of the sauerkraut salad and a wonderful spatzle. For drinks, they had a nice selection of German beers andspritz', so I had a nice Weisbier to start, and followed up with a weisbier and cola spritz, which was surprisingly nice! Theportions of everything were magnificent, and frankly, I left some spatzle on the plate at the end, as I had no more room (andI'm a rotund fellow! Not often I leave food behind!) In the end, my wife was extremely pleased with the dinner and evening, aswere our guests, and myself? Obviously, I can't rave enough. Looking forward to our next visit, already! Read more
