Our first time here, and it was a busy lunchtime. We got seated fairly quickly by a very nice young lady. The table, chairs and... floor were all clean. The old fashioned pub seemed inviting and friendly. A nice guy came over from the bar to get our drinkorder, delivered our drinks and took our food order. From there, it took an unfortunate turn as he kept filling our cups, butthe food never came. We did not complain, waiting to see what would finally happen. He finally realized that we had been there awhile and checked on our order. He came out to tell us there was a mishap with our ticket and our order was going to be on thehouse. Food showed up fairly quickly after that. My wife got the two for 10.00 lunch deal, selecting the half turkey sandwichwith French onion soup. The picture does not show it well, but they had a lot of sliced turkey on the sandwich and it was verytasty. I had a salad with chicken on the side. It had some apples, candied nuts and such on it with a very good apple ciderdressing that was recomended by the waiter. We both cleaned our plates and were very pleased. We smelled the delicious food as soon as we parked in the garage and it tasted even better. We had the fish n chips and the... chicken Tikka, both were phenomenal! The cesar salad and kid's mac and cheese were also yummy. Great service and fun to sitoutside and watch the people go by. Accommodations for toddlers were on par. Read more
Lots of great restaurants on the Old Town Winchester road. This one has a British theme (hense the name) and has excellent food... and service. We only had appetizers but they were delicious (buffalo Mac and cheese and sliders with chips). Their beef islocally sourced and you can tell: juicy and full of flavor. The Mac and cheese was very cheesy! Will definitely be coming back. Read more
