I live in the DMV area and NOTHING comes close to the authentic flavor of this place. I grew up in Trinidad and Tobago, it's... really hard to find good Carribbean restaurants. I've tried a couple in the DMV area and it's disappointing every time. Overlyexpensive, not authentic, bland, small portions. This restaurant is a little on the pricey side but not as much as therestaurants in DMV. You get what you pay for: the food is well seasoned, the portions are massive, and the family that runs thisrestaurant are so kind. Curry goat is my favorite dish, if you're to judge a Carribbean dish, it would be the curry. It was soflavorful, and goat is hard to cook, not everyone can do it right but their goat was cooked to tender perfection. I also orderedtheir oxtail and beef patties (they didn't have any fresh, so I bought their frozen patties). The oxtail was just as tender asthe goat and the beef patties were flaky, also, the plantains on the side were to die for. I loved everything about this place,it reminded me of my home country. I wish I lived closer but I am glad I happened upon this place by attending a festivalnearby. Hopefully I'll be visiting in their area in the future, I would definitely make this a necessary stop. Amazing food, huge portions and friendly staff. A pleasant find on a family road trip!
Oh what a great find. We stayed in the area for a week and had to visit this place twice. It was so good. Everything we had here... was tasty but my favorite was Oxtails and curry goat. It was soooo flavorful and the portion was great for the price. Even theside was so good. I can eat that steamed cabbage all day. Also the staff was so friendly too! Read more
