Visited Second Glass a couple weeks back for a evening dinner. Called in for reservations and we were accommodated easily even... with our schedule change and having to move the reservation for the next day. Located in the quaint, stylish and beautifullydone South Front District, Second Glass did not disappoint. Upon entering we were greeted by our Server Justin and later foundout the owner Celeste. They were warm, welcoming and seated us immediately. The interior of this space is quite impressive, asee through wine cellar on the right as you enter, an extensive bar and plenty of seating throughout. One of the specials forthe evening were orange wine flights. Something we had not experienced to date. They were tasty and unexpected, look forward todiving further into them at some point. To be expected their wine list is extensive but not intimidating and most of theirofferings are paired with a recommended wine to enhance the experience. The chicken pate and trout deviled eggs were delightful. The catch used in the deviled eggs tasted fresh and was a wonderful twist on a classic appetizer. We then ordered byrecommendation the Pork Shank, with Collards and New York Strip. The pork shank was flavorful and only enhanced with the side ofcollards that were reminiscent of a hearty and wholesome Sunday Dinner. The steak was cooked medium and was equally flavorful, the mac and cheese that we paired with it was an absolute sleeper for this dish. If you have a chance order their Mac andcheese. The wines that were paired with these dishes elevated the experience. It also provided a glimpse into the preparationthe chef and their team take into making every dish a memorable one. All in all this a wonderful space for a casual brunch(which we went to the next day lol) or an evening out. Highly recommend visiting Second Glass and we look forward to returningsoon. Read more

One of my favorite places in wilmington! The wine list is extensive and the flights are always exciting and adventurous. The... food is really the highlight. If nothing else grab the burger with the pimento cheese or the perfectly cooked scallops. Ifthey have the espresso chest pie, start your diet next week and indulge. Last but not least is the service, they make you feellike your a good friend that dropped by for a bite to eat. Read more

This place knows wine. Service however could use some tightening up. Front reception was curt after asking to sit near a fan -... mind you this was for outdoor seating. All leftover cheese the waiter too to bag up from my cheeseboard was missing from mytakeaway bag. Pimento cheese was delicious as usual. Nothing bad enough that I wouldn?t return but also know there are otheroptions when considering. Read more

The wine selection is carefully selectedand the owner Celeste is happy to point you in the right direction when it comes to pairing. Hands down a must go spot. Read more

Loved the decor of this chic restaurant! We started with the wine in a beautiful glass accompanied by rich She-crab soup and... flavorful ceviche!! The sea bass presentation was sophisticated while being cooked perfectly! The burger was a meld of manyflavors with ?can?t eat just one? sweet potato home fries. The final star was the crème-brulee with hints of ginger &lemon!!!! Read more

A fabulous birthday dinner @thesecondglasswinebar. Love good wine and good food in a relaxing atmosphere. Started with warm... olives and deviled eggs with trout roe.....delicious. We then moved on to beef tartare with egg yolk. It was silky andflavorful. Next was sweet potato gnocchi, omg the flavor with roasted brussel sprouts and mushrooms. Best dish of the night.Finished(well we thought) with mussels with fennel and bacon. We could have used a loaf of bread to sop up the sauce. They thensurprised me with a chocolate torte for my birthday. It was rich, fudgy and perfect match with the wine. Fabulous place andhighly recommended. Read more
