I visited the Breadsmith the first Monday they opened. The first thing I noticed was how clean the store was and how friendly... the staff were. I was able to sample different breads and desserts that they had freshly made. I purchased a Mediterranean Herbbread as well as a Cobblestone dessert bread. I also loved the locally made spreads, jams, and jellies available, and Ipurchased a Muscadine Grape jelly. I brought my finds to work with me, and my staff and I enjoyed some of the absolute bestsandwiches ever! The bread was soft on the inside with a slightly chewy crust...it was amazing!! I have returned three timesover the past two weeks to buy more bread. I have had the opportunity to meet the owners. It is not always easy for me to find alocally owned business that I am excited and proud to patronize. I will be a long time regular customer at the Breadsmith. Saturday morning at 9, one would expect really fresh, crusty bread and rolls, instead I got product that was obviously baked at... best last night or even yesterday. It seemed refrigerated as it was cool to the touch with a soft crust. I just wanted a crustybread and roll, what I got was something that could have come from packaged bread in a supermarket. Plus the rolls were $1 each!I was really looking forward to a good bakery in Wilmington... Breadsmith is a big disappointment. Read more
I love, love, love the fresh bread here! My only issue is that they don?t have the ability to slice the bread thin. There?s only... a one-size bread slicer. Read more
