If your looking for a great pizza spot off the beaten path in a tucked away up and coming neighborhood located in South Front... this is it. The character and visual as we approached the pizzeria was quite pleasing especially during the sunset on a warmOctober night. The open bar and kitchen was inviting and the buzz of conversation lit up the dining room even more.Unfortunately this is where all the fanfare ended. We came for a Tuesday night dinner and chose to order their special 2 pizzaswith a side salad. The side salad was upgraded to their version of a Caesar salad. We enjoyed a Peroni and French 75, the babyhad a Pepsi. The French 75 came out a little warm, considering there was only one patron seated at the bar. For starters weordered a child version of buttered pasta. It came with Rigatoni piping hot buttered and assumingly edible. But after one bitethe pasta was not Al Dente, but hard. We were then provided their Caesar Salad which came in a large portion. It includedroasted and raw Brussels sprouts with pesto. The best way to describe the salad was dense. It was hard to eat. The Caesardressing was not liberally tossed and while the pesto was okay, it was lost in the maze of unsalted roasted Brussels sproutsand raw Brussels sprouts loaded in this dense hard to eat salad. The two pizzas were the “Takin in Shitake” and “PizzaAlla Carbonara”. Both were underwhelming, lacked any distinguishing pop of flavor. Both pizzas were burnt considerably on oneside and doughy on the other. Which lends to lack of experience for whomever is preparing the pizza in their wood fire oven.Overall was expecting a little more flavor and flare from a pizzeria that clearly had an eye for design in their overallpresentation of their space. If your are looking for good pizza for half the price, while it may not be the most quaint scenerySlice of Life would be a safer and more flavorful choice. Read more

OMG, this place is amazing. My wife's constant refrain was, "I can't believe you didn't order". I had a Meeting of the Minds... pizza and it was incredible. Will come back frequently. I would have posted a pic of the second Chocolate Brownie Cookie but Icouldn't wait Read more

Overall solid experience. Fried chicken Parmesan bites as an appetizer were really good. Got four pizzas total to taste the... menu. Tony Pepperoni was a well done classic. The Little Greenie was the best of the bunch as veggie pizzas can be difficult butthe toppings were perfect. The Green Monster would’ve been better served with lamb sausage instead of Italian sausage and therosemary leaves needed to be evenly distributed instead of in bunches as you either got no taste of it or too much. King Louiewas a bold pizza that I was very interested to try but honestly didn’t work for me. Spicy from the serranos with citrussweetness of the pineapple jam and mint on top just did not mesh IMO. Enjoyed it though, would recommend you go try it foryourself! Read more

An absolutely perfect experience! I came in late, but still received top notch service! The Meating of the Minds pizza is... amazingly good. Airy but filling crust is delicious, and the meats and cheeses on top are amazingly rich! I personally like alittle more firmness under the crust, as it was a little floppy, but it was so good I didn't care at all! One thing that's amust try is the Hot Honey. I don't know what's in it but I want to buy it by the gallon! Instead of the usual crushed redpepper, the hot honey adds a tiny bit of sweetness and heat that compliments the pizza perfectly. More places should offersomething like this! Read more

the espresso martini was so delicious! And the pizza we got was some of the best we’ve had. Reminded my husband and I of pizza... we ate in Italy. Even our picky toddler ate 2 slices. A beautiful place with great food. And our server Susie was amazing. Read more

Big fan of Benny’s! Their spaghetti, cocktails, and desserts are always good. However, many visits I have tried different menu... items that turned out to be less than impressive. On our most recent visit, our server was quite unpleasant and our pizza wasabsolutely burnt to a crisp out the outer crust. The bruschetta was drowning in too many tomatoes. It’s like thebread-to-topping ratio was way off! I don’t know if the standard here is to chill red wines, but we found this a bit odd aswell. Annnnnd there are a few teeny typos! All that being said, Benny’s still has the best spaghetti in Wilmington, and theatmosphere is always enjoyable! We’ll continue to visit, it’s just taken time to know what dishes are and are not worthordering. Read more
