You can?t beat the prices or serving sizes at Jose Tequilas Mexican Bar and Grill. We were seated right away and began munching... on the chips. I ordered the grande sampler, which consisted of two plates full of food. My wife got the Tacos de Birria. She isused to being able to hold the taco while dipping, however, the way these were prepared, she had to use her fork to dip. Not abig issue. The 15 minute wait from the time we finished to when we got our check was. Perhaps the server was on break, or had alarge group he was assisting, it felt like a long time to us. Excellent authentic Mexican food. The art and decor was beautiful. Including what appeared to be hand painted pictures on the... back of the chairs. I enjoyed my steak fajitas. The steak was well seasoned with plenty of meat , onions and peppers. Therefried beans and rice were yummy. My tomato mixture did have cilantro/parsley in it, I was told it didn't. (Unable to tell forsure which one, cut too small.) I think the server just don't know. It wasn't a big deal, I generally don't eat the tomatoe mixanyway. My husband got the monster quesadilla. This restaurant has a great happy and easy going vibe, like most Mexican places I guess :) The food was amazing, very filling... and delicious. I was impressed by the fresh guacamole, a waitress comes to your table and prepare it in front of you! That wasamazing! All in all, a great place to eat! Easy parking and clean bathrooms are other side perks. I recommend this place isyou are touring the colonial area of Virginia. Read more

Our family ate here after a long day at Busch Gardens and this will definitely be a staple next time we're in the area! Every... dish was better than the last and my birras was definitely something to write home about, it was so delicious! Nothing wasoverly salted or painfully hot or anything like that, just that really solid balance of flavor that tells you this place knowswhat they're doing. I got the cowboy burrito and my girlfriend got Chicken Spinach substituting the salad for refried beans. I got the pineapple... Mojito and it was minty! She got the Guava Margarita and we both enjoyed our drink! Food was great and came out very fast!Easily with 10 minutes of ordering. A great Mexicana restaurant. Atmosphere was good, staff were nice. The margaritas were excellent. Good selection of different... types. This place is incredible. We stopped by out of the blue. We were hungry and couldn't decide on where to go. We both thought... maybe a Mexican place would be nice and we were proved wrong. It was out of this world amazing. Our waitress was awesome. I wishI remembered her name. But it was around 2pm on Thursday Feb 24.
