Reviews for Amalfis italian restaurant and pizzeria in Wilkesboro, NC
I will give them a 2. 2 of the boys that were with us did like their pizza. Us other 3 did not. It was oily. My daughter tried... to soak it up with napkin and still to much. She also wanted to know where pizza sauce was on pizza. It was a large pepperonipizza. Also was a bit rude. They came out with a dish that had bread and an oil bassed dip. This was my first time there. Then abit latter they brought out bread with some kinda cheese sauce on it we did not order. I thought it was part of what they gave. They put it on table we thaught it was part of the meal. Did not know it was not. My son and I had already tried it. Thewaitress comes out and procedes to ask if we had ordered it. No. I thought it was part of the meal. She told me I would have topay for it since we had eaten some of it. I told her no that I did not know it was part of the meal. She snatched it off thetable and went running back to kitchen as fast as possible. Luckly they did not charge but how rude I was talked to. No, imsorry that was our mistake made me feel like it was my fault that we ate it and not part of our meal.I will not be back unlesssomeone else is paying and that is where they insist on going. Wine... selection was decent, Had a lady named Nicki as our waitress she was prompt and very kind. She knew her wine and helped us makeperfect decisions on our brunch, had a great time! Wonderful service and great food. Will be back! Read more
They close at 8 every day they're open, which is rather early. If you're there at a very reasonable dinner time of 7:30, expect... them to start flipping chairs onto tables, mopping, and trying to rush you out the door. I have no idea why they are so rudeabout this, it's not our fault they decide to close right in the middle of dinner time for most people. Read more
Went there a few times. Food was decent. Staff was ok, except a female mexican woman. She is always slow and refills on drinks... take forever with her and she never has a smile on her face. You can't miss her. I Ordered food to go. Came in and girl thattook order had no clue what we asked for. So lost. Then after spending $60, I asked for some bread and oil. She said I wouldhave to pay for oil. I said if I was sitting down I get for free. Again ridiculous after spending $60. Then a Mexican waitressthat has no personality that I've seen in there before says she was manager and I would have to pay. I told them to cancelorder. I asked for owners number so i could call and let him know the horrible Customer service and how he was losing money anda return Customer because of her bad service. But she refused to. Do not go there. Food for the price is not worth it. Food isnot bad, but paying for bad service is never worth it. Plus I notice all good reviews where 2- 4 years ago. Bad reviews in thelast year. That says alot Read more
It's a nice hometown restaurant. The bread and seasoned oil were delicious. I had a spinach chicken soup, very flavorful. I... ordered the shrimp and scallop alla vodka sauce and would not recommend it. You don't get what you pay for. The sauce andnoodles were great. As far as the shrimp and scallops, I got 3 shrimp and 2.5 small scallops. Don't waste your money on thisdish. Get something else. Read more
The tomato basil soup tasted like chef boyardee without the noodles. The red sauce on the pasta was not very good neither was... the chicken parmesan. Wobbly tables and just generally uncomfortable seating. Wouldn't eat here if it was free. Read more
Never will go back again. I called in a order of 3 lasagna. The lady taking the order was rude. When we got home our salads... were hot. And the sauce was horrible. It was just worst Italian I ever ate from. Read more
I was pretty happy with the food at this place, but the service was frustrating and I wouldn't recommend it or return... personally. We got the special of the day, blackened chicken lasagna (my father thought it looked more like a burrito when itcame out but it was pretty good) and it was reasonably priced at about $10, not huge but it came with warm bread with oil andspices and a soup or salad (allegedly?), so it was filling. Only the waitress really didn't speak English and was completelyinept. Everything we said seemed to confuse her, and that showed up on the bill at the end. We got charged an extra $1 for soup-so they explained it when we complained, though there was NOTHING on the menu or anywhere saying there would be an upcharge.Every meal said "comes with soup or salad" plain as day, but they just shrugged at us. And the waitress completely misunderstoodmy father asking if he could have it with red sauce instead of white sauce and covered the dish in white sauce AND brought thislarge bowl of red sauce on the side- and charged us $4! Sigh. It was a frustrating ending to the meal, and we tried to talk tothe manager but they would not budge. A restaurant needs to have good food, and I would honestly say they did, but servicematters too, and they really blew it on that. Read more
