It was clean, and we got a friendly welcome from about 6 staff members as soon as we walked in. We ordered Shrimp lovers, 2... Chicken Katsu bowls, grilled shrimp and a teriyaki rice bowl. 1 of the shrimps were hard as a rock, but the rest were perfect.It was difficult to eat out of those small bowls because when you dig into it food would fall out of it because they wereoverflowing. I asked for a bigger bowl just to eat it comfortably. The tables were too small also. We came for the Katsuchicken. It was subpar at best. Our server Charysse was nice. I have to bring you sometime? Delicious food and bartender recommended a summer special mango sake that tastes like a... smoothie. That?s what I sent to my spouse. We recently went to Japan and our trip was not long enough (it never is!). Thisrestaurant faithfully replicates Japanese cuisine in small town Kansas. Five stars and then some!! Our first time here. The food was pretty good. We liked the Yokohama Ramen. The Gyu Don (Beef Bowl) was salty and only a few... pieces of beef. Actually, there is not enough toppings in their bowls but you can order extra toppings. We liked the shrimp(both tempura & Panko) appetizer. The fried squid legs was good too but it was very greasy. Maybe the oil was not hot enoughwhen it was put in but the batter definitely absorbed the oil. Doesn?t look like it from the photos, but when I press down withthe chopsticks, the oil was dripping. Pretty good place to eat. There is plenty to choose from, especially when it comes to drinks. I'll go back for sure.
I really wanted to like this place based on the reviews. Unfortunately, we will not be returning. Service was good, prompt,... attentive. Tempura calamari was excellent - a lot and tasty. Due to a food allergy my choices were limited. The restauranthas no ability to flex, improvise, or make a substitution for an allergy. Ordered the salmon teriyaki rice bowl. There was somuch teriyaki sauce pooling in the bottom of the bowl that it was like having a little rice with a bottle of teriyaki sauce -inedible. So for $14 I got over-saturated salmon and rice - no vegetables. Frankly, I think the reason most people go here isfor the alcoholic beverage selection which looked formidable. Bottomline: for $48 for 2 people for dinner there are a lot ofbetter options in Wichita: try Alberos, The Hill, The Kitchen, Local Flavor, and Manawok. Went on a Sunday evening for ramen. Wait staff was very polite, even though the restaurant was quite busy. I ordered the... Tonkatsu styled Ramen and shared Beef Dumplings/Potstickers. We had also ordered a Yuzu (Japanese citrus fruit), rice wine thatwas the right amount of sweet and sour balance I'd expect. There is also a Dragon Ball Z mural on the wall leading to the barseating which is a nice nerdy touch. Enjoyed my experience. Would easily go again. Read more
Amazing restaurant if you are craving for some ramen. They have plenty vegetarian options and believe me it?s usually packed so... maybe call before you visit. The prices are regular for the quantity and quality of food they offer. The staff was friendly andinformative about the ingredients in the dishes. I ordered Spicy ramen with fried tofu and some vegetable spring rolls. It wasdelicious. Their menu is lengthy, with variety of options, do try ?! Best ramen, Asian restaurant in Wichita. They have a great selection of menu items. Delicious ramen with wontons, with a side... topping of tonkatsu, excellent lychee martini and truffle oil gyoza.
