Reviews for Hog Wild Pit Bar-B-Q in Wichita, KS
I'm used to Hog Wild ribs falling off the bone tender. I don't know what's going on, but I was very disappointed. Every one of... the Hog Wild restaurants I've visited in the past has been pretty tasty. Today I went to the E Central restaurant and the ribswere so tough that you damn near had to use a machete. It started out good, but now I feel like it was a bait and switch. Irefuse to spend my hard earned money on any more of the substandard cuisine like I received today!!! The other stores servedecent dishes, this was dog food!!! Read more
Have been there several times over the years. Always takeout. This time was awful. No sauce provided, which was a first. Also... my wife and I ordered 2 meat dinner- brisket and pulled pork each. So I received the brisket and she got pork and not an extra helping so basically ripped off. Read more
First time in, horrible customer service. Meat portions were tiny, maybe two ounces of meat per meat choice for the dinner pick... two option.. I had to ask the girl if she was going to ask what meats and sides we would like. Gravy is burnt and mashedpotatoes were really dry, they very loudly stated that the mashed potatoes had been pulled so they very clearly said they addedwater, stirred and heated them back up. The staff was NOT friendly AT all. Spent 38 dollars for super small portions and rudeemployees. Will not be returning. Total waste of money and a terrible experience. If the owner is reading this a reimbursementwould be nice. Read more
Very good bbq, decent portion for the 2 meat dinner. Had the pulled chicken and pork..the pork was very edible and wasn't made... of burnt ends and grizzle fat so major props there. Parking for the immediate lot is a bit tight BUT there is another abandonedbusiness next door with plenty of spots you can walk from. Sits right across from a newer apartment building. Employees werehelpful and friendly and they actually serve REAL cobbler prepackaged (apple and cherry when I went). They also had standardCoke products as well as Sweet and Unsweetened tea and even Watermelon tea...which even for a former Southerner was a first forme ever seeing...lol. 2 meat dinner with 2 sides, 2 slices of garlic toast, a regular drink and cobbler was $19.20 after tax. I'll be back for sure. Read more
The turkey breast meat is generally very good. However, the salads have been an ongoing issue. We do not like brown lettuce.... Today, we returned the one salad because of brown lettuce. The replacement had the same problem. Ugh. Hopefully they'll fix theproblem so we don't have to drop them. After talking with the manager, they were very receptive and will remedy the situation. The tender, juicy ribs and home-cooked tasting baked beans, cole slaw and Texas Toast were a pleasant surprise. Honestly we were... looking for local soul food restaurants because we are from Oklahoma City and were just visiting while my daughter has avolleyball tournament. I was disappointed when the first 2 places we were looking for were closed. Based on location, I expectedHog Wild to be less flavorful than a usual mom and pop spot. However it was absolutely delicious, including my watermelon sweettea. My daughter really enjoyed her double meat brisket loaded baked potato and my mom had the 3 meat dinner (ribs, hot linksand brisket) and homemade peach cobbler. None of the meals disappointed. I would definitely return! Read more
GREAT BBQ! I've never had any problem at any Hog Wild Pit BBQ location. Very courteous staff, clean facilities, great atmosphere... and fresh BBQ. I had the Wild Hog sandwich (pulled pork and sliced hot links). It is a very large sandwich! Onion and picklebar with banana peppers and jalapeños. Fresh ice tea! It's good. Yall come on over!
