Come here if you enjoy slow/terrible service and overpriced flavorless pizza. Waited over 35 minutes for two pizzas, had to ask... for silverware and we were only checked on once (which was by accident because our waitress brought us someone else?s drink) forthe hour we were there. $50 for an appetizer and 2 pizzas that looked like they came from the buffet line at cici?s pizza. Also, it was about 85 degrees in there the whole time, you?d think with the prices of their food they?d have plenty enough moneyto turn the AC down a bit. Really enjoyed our visit to Avivo. Nice to have on the West Side. My pizza was perfect with a little crisp on the bottom... crust. My wife had the Chicken parm sandwich and it was pretty darn good. This an excellent meal and atmosphere. We had the 4 cheese pizza and the chicken and ranch pizza. The pizzas were seasoned... perfectly. The crust had a crunch and still maintained that perfect chew for a pizza. Nothing over done, good size, and servedhot! The service was prompt, attentive, but not overbearing. This has officially become one of our date night spots, and thatis one of the highest compliments I can give. Read more
Wow more food than we could finish. It was wonderful and service was smiling and friendly.
Update: went back. Service was very good. Seems like only one server tonight for a full house. Manager and staff worked together... efficiently to maintain service. Lasagna needs more cheese. Taste was good but unbalanced due to very little ricotta cheese.Bread undertoasted on one side. Balsamic on appetizer was too sweet. Will try again when less crowded to see if food qualityimproves a tad. Still enjoyed it. Original review: Excellent service, ambiance, and food. We have been looking for a nice smallrestaurant where we can have good pizza and pasta for a while. We happened to come across Avivo by chance and can safely saythat we will be back. Our waiter John was excellent, our appetizer was fresh and delicious. My wife and I both ordered pizzasand they were both delicious. The portion size is adequate. The price is a tad on the high side but I think the service andfreshness of the ingredients makes it worth while for us. We will come again for sure. Read more
Overall I really cool place, we really enjoyed our food! The wine was decent nothing special but solid! I loved the outdoor... patio, they had a little band playing! Our waitress had the perfect mix of attending to our needs without hovering. She was friendly and efficient. The food was... excellent. I had a half Caesar salad and their Old World Pepperoni pizza. Excellent flavor. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Read more
