First time I went last summer (2021) and it wasn?t so great. Food came out wrong and service was bad. Decided to give this place... a second chance today (6/2022) and WOW am I glad I did! Server was excellent! Nice younger blond girl (didn?t catch her name)was so friendly and personable. The food was absolutely delicious! Got guac to start and it was super tasty along with somecomplimentary salsa. Salsa was mild but had a kick to it- didn?t taste like tomato paste like some places in the area. I got theCantina Bowl with chicken. It was a great portion for the price, I had lots left over for later. Very flavorful meal that leftme satisfied. Mojave is super solid food. Probably my restaurant of choice around here to grab take-out for lunch at work. Prices are a tiny... bit high for what you get, but they're pretty good at not skimping on meat which makes that totally fine. What sours theexperience for me is the sides and overall weird pricing; mainly upcharging for add-ons. Adding a modest amount of queso on topof a burrito is $2 extra, on a burrito that's already $15 for just the burrito and a side of rice and beans. A side of rice is$4 extra on its own. Whaaaat? The sides (that come with entrees) are super small as well. Maybe people dining in get betterexperiences, as I've only ever gotten takeout. The most expensive component of this type of food is always the meat, whichleaves me scratching my head as to why they seem to be so stingy with the *inexpensive* components! To start, the service was excellent from the moment i walked through the door. I was greeted and was sat with drinks within five... minutes even on a Saturday. Our waitress, Bella (who was also the bartender) was fantastic. She was constantly running aroundhelping people out, while still maintaining great service to our table. Not impressed with the food. The salsa is a burnt tomato, this is an odd choice for the basic salsa since it does not appeal to... everyone. It is a unique find that a Mexican restaurant serves brunch, I tried the breakfast qusadilla. It is served withscrambled eggs and bacon. It had good flavor but the presentation of colorless lettuce on the plate is not appealing. Theservice was adequate. I have... reviewed the establishment in Clawson and I must say this one and Whitelake is just as good and tasty and authentic theenchiladas and chicken fajitas and Mexican pizza are amazing!!! Love Love Love!! The bartender Sarah is very sweet and has 6children under the age of 8. So please tip her well! Lots of moths to feed. The interior is warm and inviting and the staff areincredibly friendly. I highly recommend you stop in and enjoy the atmosphere and the delicious food. Let them know that youread my review. This is a most wonderful Mexican cantina. The food was absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend the chicken egg roll... appetizer. The tortilla soup is much more authentic than I'm used to seeing and it's so good. The street tacos were exactly whatI was hoping for, especially since the pork is so savory and tasty. The flavored sangria is worth a trip in itself. I am partialto the blackberry. The atmosphere is pleasant and fun. I got a few smiles from the kitchen staff singing and enjoying theevening. Our server was on spot and so kind, and thoughtful on top of just being a lovely young lady. Thank you Caitlin verymuch for helping make a wonderful experience for us.
