Best soul food I?ve had in a long time!! My boyfriend and I are road tripping and we found this spot on the map. Only a few... minutes off I-75 and well worth the stop! Michelle was lovely and the food was SO GOOD. The brisket melts in your mouth, the Mac& cheese was to die for, and the collard greens were the best we?ve ever had. This place has true character. Amazing ???? food. Our family was heading back from white water rafting on the Ocoee river, from being on the water for 4 hours... we were starving but didn?t want to waste money on fast food so we decided to stop at the next restaurant place along our paththat looked decent. So we spotted J?s soul food and pulled in to give it a try. At the time there credit card machine was doneso they excepted cash only. Which put a small snag in our plan as we carry no cash, after asking a customer eating on the patio, and the customer even sharing his rib piece we were convinced we needed to run to dollar general for cash back . They closedwithin the hour so my expectations were low, however the quality of the food was amazing, absolutely delicious. We order the ribplate and 2 sides, I had ribs Mac and cheese , and greens, my boyfriend had ribs, dressing and the sauce was the best I?ve evertasted . Everything was my favorite, especially the Texas bread. After smashing our food we were definitely convinced this placehas some of the best bbq around. Never knew of the place before our run in but so happy we stopped. And realize it?s only 25minutes from our house, I?m already planning to go back to try the fried chicken and cake ???? it?s black owned, and operatedand comes with a A rating score . You can taste the love, poured into the food , you can?t get eating at Applebees but only atfamily business because they truly love what they do.. Next best thing to big mama?s cooking. This is a little place that?s easily missed if you don?t know it is there. It is a little off the Highway but worth the drive.... Food is made to order but well worth the wait. Get the Brisket grilled cheese. It is the best sandwich I have ever had. All thesides are home cooked and better than mom made them. It?s probably good this place isn?t close to my house. Read more
Neat little BBQ joint. I had the grilled cheese brisket sandwich and it was pretty yummy. Very limited seating outside. The... inside is closed to dine in. No Fountain drinks unfortunately. Definitely coming back to try some of their other menu items! Read more

I wanted some brisket but unfortunately they had sold out so I got the rib dinner and a chicken loaded potato. Ribs were... outstanding and the sides were very delicious. Great bbq at a fair price. Did take-out. Brisket was really good with lots of crust and little fat. Collards were excellent and... slaw was good but a little too wet/creamy for me. Like bbq, there are a thousand different types of slaw. Read more
