Even on one of the coldest October days, the atmosphere and scenery was welcoming and relaxing. I was able to sit outside... comfortably, with the heaters going. What a beautiful vineyard. Picturesque, relaxing, fun place to spend the afternoon with friends and ones you love. Rodney, one... of the owners is always making the rounds in his cowboy hat, talking with guests. Ray, the other owner lives in the home on thegrounds. Big Door is set on a rolling 17 acres, 14 of which are vineyards. Coy pond, waterfalls, walking trails to explore andenjoy the grounds. It's very close compared to the vineyards up north of Dahlonega. Located off of hwy 20 between I-75 andI-575. Don't let me forget to mention Joe, the general manager, who is also moving about, making sure guests feel the mostwelcomed and have what they need. A super friendly place. And the wine is wonderful. Lovely place just 15 minutes from my house. I took my wife here to taste some wines. We sat outside and looked at this wonderful... pond and waterfall. Robert was very knowledgeable on the wine list. Staff very friendly. I will go back and recommend to friendsand family. Read more
This place was recommended to us by a friend. Glad we didn't pass up this opportunity! It was very fun, the landscape was... beautiful and the wine selection was pretty good. Don't sleep on the wine slushies either, they're low alcohol content so youcan have a couple and be totally fine. But they taste great. Will definitely come back. Read more
Had a great time! Loved the atmosphere. We had a white and red tasting and they were all fine. The wife enjoyed the Cab the... most. I preferred the Lenoir. We are both usually Cab drinkers. We ended up getting a bottle of the Lenoir. We also had theJerky boxes which were enjoyable and ended up getting a bacon a chicken sandwich a couple of hours later which was very good.Live acoustic music was nice. A little loud inside, but perfect on the deck. We definitely plan on going back. Great way tospend a lovely spring like afternoon and evening. Highly recommend. Read more
I am really not huge on wine. HOWEVER.... I sampled many of there wines and really loved the blueberry as well as the chocolate.... For me to actually buy a bottle of each is HUGE. This vineyard is beautiful, inside and out. Seeves many different events. Weare going back on Wednesday night for painting a wine bottle. This is rustic/ modern charm at its best. Read more
The staff was very friendly and helpful. This was our first time at a winery. We had the white and red flights as well as a... charcuterie board. Everything was delicious. The grounds are beautiful and I think it would be a great place to watch the sunsetand have a glass of wine. We will be back on our next date night to give it a try. Read more
