Reviews for Charminar Indian Cuisine | Whitby in Whitby, ON
Hubby and I were craving Indian food and visited Charminar for the first time. We're so happy we did as the food was fresh,... tasty, and as spicy as we requested and expected it to be. The chef came around to meet and greet, which was nice as well. Thislocation seemed to have very few servers which meant long wait times to be served/seen to however, the food was well worth thewait! I'd highly recommend the chilli fish - it was so flavourful. We'll definitely be back! Read more
This place never disappoints. First time dine in. Place is clean and staffs are extremely helpful. We ordered Hydrabadi chicken... biriyani,Avakkai Mutton biriyani. As usual Biriyanis were great. We went with Amaravathi Chicken curry defying the warnings ofspiciness by our server..It was great but spiciness is extreme, regretted the decision after few bites. The portions of biriyaniis large and could be shared between two people. Overall great tasting food and extremely good service. Read more
Place was extremely clean and hygiene. Crew was very helpful, good restaurant vibe and has excellent veg biryani options. We... tried paneer tikka biryani and was very tasteful. We had a take out so quantity of raita and salad was little less. Read more
Ordered the chicken curry, the butter chicken with the bread basket and egg fried rice. Everything tasted delicious. As long as... you mentally prepare for the spice level, you should be okay. Will be back! Read more
Loved the Indian food here. Everything was super tasty and made with a lot of hard work and love. I love the appetizer Guntur... Chicken. Beware, it is very spicy. Most people will not be able to handle it. Karampodi Kodi Chicken is also really good. TheChili Naan and Onion Kulcha were mind blowing. So was the Lal Chicken. What a unique flavor. Almost a mix of Butter Chicken andTikka Masala and Karahi Chicken. Make sense? Must try. Had the Gongura Mutton Biryani. Good flavor but a bit salty. My otherrecommends are their Kheema Biryani, Malai Kebab, Masala Lollipops and Tandoori Chicken. I didn?t particularly like the Veg DumBiryani, Apollo Fish or Shahi Paneer (a bit too sweet) Overall, one of the best desi places you will find anywhere and that?s abig reason they are now at 7 locations. The service was also excellent and so was the ambience. They have lunch specials thatrange from $10-12 depending on which one you order. Looking forward to trying that. Read more
Edit: The staff went above and beyond to make it right. We were offered a discount and a dessert to make our experience better.... We are happy with the experience and the food was delicious. Thank you for making it right. Appreciate the effort. Two of usvisited the place. One received the order and the other was waiting 15 min (correction 30 min. Food is still not here) Onefinished eating and the other had not even received anything that was ordered. Read more

We have tried this restaurant before and had very good experience with the food always. Recently we decided to give it a quick... try for dinner while we were in downtown Whitby. The restaurant is nicely decorated and clean. The ambience is awesome and youwould feel good as soon as you enter. It's not very crowded at most of the times as people prefer takeout nowadays, mostly afterCovid. So you would definitely get a place to sit with your family if you plan to dine in. We went it and checked the menu andsat for our order to be taken. The restaurant seemed to be more famous for takeouts as lot of people and food delivery apps keptcoming for pickups. We were attended shortly by a lovely server with a smiling face who was patient enough to hear out andsuggest dishes based on our requirements. We finally went with ordering Amravati Chicken and few butter naans. He was straightforward with the dish being spicy ???????? and we ended up making it medium spicy. Glad we did. The food was extremely good andwe felt it had the same taste as we are used to in India. Quantity did justice to the price we paid for the dish. Naans weresoft. We enjoyed the dinner to the fullest. We now have a favorite restaurant in Whitby and would love to try all the dishes atdifferent occasions. They also have free parking available at the plaza. If you don't find one, I would recommend to wait forsometime as lot of cars are there just to pick up. They also have clean washrooms for your use. Would definitely recommend thisplace to everyone wanting to try Indian dishes and you will not be disappointed. Read more
