Reviews for Windy Peaks Brewery & Steakhouse in Wheatland, WY
This is definitely the upscale restaurant of downtown Wheatland with prices to match. We liked the menu and the ... fact that it is a brewpub with a number of craft beers available. Maybe another time we will come in for a big steak dinner. The servers were polite. It just was not what we wanted that evening and the restaurant did nothing wrong. We visited in September 2022. Just ordered take out. $45! no condiments for our dry burgers. (at least this time they were cooked.) Fries tasted like they... dumped the entire salt shaker on them- not edible. Wanted something different so we ordered the "nachos" made with fries.another in-edible product. Ordered with brisket, not sure if it was supposed to have bar-b-que sauce or not, but there was somuch sauce, we couldn't taste anything else, nor eat them. I always give a place at least a second chance, but this was it.won't be back! so basically $45 for 2 dry burgers...$45 and I am still starving... Read more
Perfect hole in the wall steakhouse. Did not have any drinks. But the food was great the service was amazing I like the hours... you can see it?s a good thing because you don?t have those servers that are grumpy working doubles like other places. I ordereda ribeye cooked perfect how I wanted it waitress keep a good service from the start. Will be coming back. Perfect for out oftown workers trying to get a great meal Read more
The seasoned salt fries were good. That's the extent of the good things I can say. The burger and the chicken sandwich both... need a sauce to make up for the level of dryness at which they are served. Whether that's a simple flavored house aioli, ketchup, chipotle pepper sauce, anything would help. Also, for the chicken sandwich, the chicken either needs to be pounded outto fit the bun, or the bun needs to be smaller. You're left with the last 2-3 bites just being bread at the end. If going withthe pounding it thinner route, it would cook quicker as well, so it's a win-win for the establishment and the customer. I'massuming service was short staffed as everywhere else has been, so I'm minimally including that in the rating. I can't say Iwon't return, but I can say I regret this being the place I chose to try in this town. Read more
Windy Peaks Steakhouse had great ambiance went there after work one day. Ordered a rib eye and it was cooked perfectly medium... with great seasoning. The potato came loaded and was perfect. My disappointment and why the 4 stars is the broccoli was mush.Way over cooked. Recommend the place anyway. Read more
Unexpected surprise in my hometown, great little restaurant on the main street. Great beer selection and food was good too, had... the sliders with jalapeños, bun was underwhelming but burger was perfect. Definitely recommend, can't imagine there is a betterplace in Wheatland. Read more
Good food, good service, and good ambiance! We got the ribeye with mashed potatoes and added some mushrooms. The fried green... beans made a great extra side dish and it was more than enough food for the two of us. They have a beer menu on the tv screenand also physical menus. The sampler of 4x4oz pours allows you to really figure out what's good before you commit to one. Wewere pleasantly surprised by such a hip spot in a small town. Read more
Quaint place with nice ambiance but that was why it was 2 stars. Website was not updated. Prices increased, and some menu items... were replaced. Beer was flat, no head. Not worth the $7.50 a pint. My husband asked the bartender about the chive potatobattered fish ?Po Boy?she said it was a new menu item. It came on a potato bun with a slice of cheddar cheese that didn't meltand had lettuce and tomato. When she asked how it was my husband said it was a generous C+. She didn't apologize or seem to caretoo much! He said it was similar to McDonalds! Fries were salty and mushy inside. Apparently the owner was sitting at the endof the bar and decided to order one to see what came out. We were gone before it arrived. Not sincerely apologetic enough anddidn?t even offer a discount. Glad we were only in town for one night- we love breweries. A brewery usually has more than 2 oftheir own brews on tap (they had 2 milkshake IPA?s) We were very disappointed. It was more of an expensive restaurant than abrewery. Definitely would not return!!! Read more
