What a great breakfast. Stumbled upon this quaint diner. After missing a turn off the interstate. Enjoyed fluffy flavorful... pancakes while my wife enjoyed the largest western omelet I've seen in some time. It was overcooked, or dry. Served withperfectly cooked potatoes. Crispy bacon. It?s sad to say my visit here was the most uncomfortable, unpleasant experience I?ve ever had in a Jersey diner, from the... atmosphere of the place to the waitress. Everything made me so uncomfortable. IF YOU ARE NON WHITE consider another diner. Thepeople eating here will give you stares with their GOD SHIRTS and blue striped reversed flag hoodies, or you may even have awaitress that seems bothered by your presence even when you try your hardest to be polite. We have been eating there for years. The last year or so the food has gotten worse. The wait staff need to know the menu and... food better. My wife ordered a gyro, the meat was terrible. She asked girl what kind of meat was it. Girl didn't know. Wifeasked her if it was plant based she shyly said yes. Also I ordered onion rings they were tasteless and over cooked. We decidedto take a break from Gateway. We won't be back for awhile. We are Very, very disappointed. Read more
