Reviews for Monument Lake Resort in Weston, CO
This place is literally heaven on earth. We were here for the Caveman Festival and it could not have been more perfect. It is... absolutely one of the most beautiful places on earth. The lake was surrounded with beauty, music, laughter, joy, dancing, fun,and wonderful people. Just imagine the most glorious mountain escape and you will see this place. So glorious in fact, it almostcan't be described on words because it also exhales an energy that replaces stress with freedom to just let go and have the timeof your life. Thank you, Monument Lake Resort, for bringing every music festival lover's dream to life. This place haseverything you coild possibly need to have a good time if you love the mountains, the outdoors, and partying to include arestaurant with live music and dancing, boat rentals, flushable toilets, swimming, a walking trail around the lake, breathtakingviews. and really good people. Beautiful setting, pristine lake with a magnificent view of West Spanish Peak. Nice little store, with boat rentals. Very nice,... clean and safe, but not a luxury resort. Beautiful trees in most campsites. Very hard working and friendly staff! Great food atreasonable prices at the restaurant! Free Wi-Fi, but doesn?t reach far from the restaurant. Visitors MUST follow directions andleave nothing out at night, we had a momma bear and 2 cubs rifling through our neighbors cooler-if she gets caught one more timeit will be her 3rd service and the forest service will euthanize her and her cubs!! Very sad! We loved Monument Lake Resort andare looking forward to a return visit! Great area for bicycle riding and hiking. Read more
Beautiful location! We?ve been through here many times and have always been impressed, so we decided to stay here with our 1... year old for his first camping trip. We couldn?t have been more disappointed. First, there was a fairly large wedding thefirst night there and they completely trashed the communal restroom facility. There was so much traffic, with no warnings atcheck in to avoid certain areas. We got around that and settled into our spot on the opposite side of the lake, where severalcampsites around us were pretty noisy with music and chatter. Most of this did die down by the 10pm quiet time, but notcompletely. The facilities on this side of the property were also in awful condition and needing some serious attention. Allof the bear proof dumpsters were full and overflowing. Many campsites were completely full of trash, even with no campers atthem. Clearly the sites are not being monitored before, during, or after anyones stays. We could mostly overlook theseannoyances, but could not get over the overwhelming odor of marijuana. The park rules clearly stated no drug use, however, allwe could smell all day was other visitors toking up. We were not able to enjoy any fresh mountain air during our visit. Itwas very annoying. Staff seemed very indifferent to any of the happenings around them and more worried about socializing witheach other. This place just isn?t the same anymore. Very sad. We were so frustrated that we even packed up at 8 pm and leftour trip early. Also, EVERYTHING is extremely over priced on the property. Read more
The cabin was renovated tastefully and very comfortable. The only issue we had was the price was high. We forgot our oars for... our kayak and asked to rent a set and they refused to rent to us stating we could rent a boat and oars for a price higher thanother parks are charging. There were several boats AND oars that did not go into the water that day. I felt that they were beingmoney hungry and not accommodating to their guests. It will be a long while before we return to their camp site Read more
Used to be my favorite spot to go camp with the friends and family. I?ve been going for about 20 years to camp here. The lady... working the restaurant is extremely hospitable and friendly, but one worker just ruined it all. Shut us down and threatened tocall the sheriff for having a fire, telling us there was absolutely no fires while allowing 4 other campers around us to haveone. Then kicked us out and charged us $200 for moving a fire pit that wasn?t even bolted to its pad. Paid $100 to camp forthree nights. Not anywhere near worth that value. Don?t waste your money here. Check out north fork or bear and blue lake. Read more
Such a great camp/resort!! The trees and wilderness are so peaceful, just keep food inside. The black bear was climbing around... in the back of most of the trucks, we only saw it once though and found a paw print on our pickup. It was just such a greatbeautiful place! Read more

We had a great time. Very impressive cabins and restroom facilities. The outdoor bear proof trash cans were emptied daily and... cleaned. So clean they smell like Fabuloso if you get within 10 feet. It was very peaceful and my kids loved the hiking andfishing. We were there 3 days. Never a boring moment! We are planning on a stay annually. Read more
