we went for dinner as a group of 3. first a guy refused to sit us in a section of the restaurant where another man had agreed... for us... then throughout our visit, there was this one guy who was walking back and forth in the restaurant going around likecrazy. he was marching then staying in one corner and started at us made us too uncomfortable. when serving us, 3 people came atthe same time reaching the dishes from our table from different sides of our table which was too disturbing. this guy's stomachwas touching my friend all the time and finally dropped our jacket on the floor. the same last guy - walking around - wassometimes dancing and singing too! the environment was so weird. there was another guy making fresh pasta dough in the oven whoyelled at one server in the middle of restaurant!!! we thought he was fighting. embarrassed the server so much!! my lamb chopswas too cold. I had to ask for warming it up. by the time they returned it to us, it wasn't fresh and juicy and the fries on thesides was saggy!!! again that guy was too annoying we asked and they said he's the manager!! the food also took forever toarrive!!! worse experience Read more

I went to this restaurant last night with my wife and was disappointed. Aside the fact that the decor is relatively nice we... waited 1 hour and 15min to get served our main dish which is a mediocre performance. I understand the whole staff shortagesituation but measures aren?t put into place to cope with that reality. Plus i can?t imagine it being faster when the restaurantis at full capacity. No bread is served no attention is given to the customer to inform us it might take a while and no waterwas served until we asked for it. At first i thought it was a quality restaurant because a guy thats seemed like the owner wasserving food to the customers but actually i was wrong it is just a place that looks nice and is well situated if you love to bearound orange julep to go see cars. Aside from that, personnel does not have the intuition of a professional waiting staff thatyou would usually find at restaurants who are in the same category of pricing. The restaurant was approximately at 20-25%capacity so it was rather easy to keep track of the people that were inside. But the employee that greets you at the entrancewas able to see that we were not served past the hour and instead of offering something like drinks or anything to make thesituation less uneasy was instead wandering in the entrance being clearly bored and unoccupied because she had no one to greet.She then finished her shift and left without any apology or explanation. The food was good but didn?t look like it deemed somuch time in preparation. Waitress apologized but not the chef or the superviser/owner. The time spent with my wife talkingovershadowed the situation with our service but the experience at this restaurant was bland and it will have been our first andlast visit there. My husband and I went to Kavos for the first time last night with another couple. It was a toss up between Kavos and another... place in Old Montreal. We're so glad we chose Kavos instead. Started with drinks at the bar and the barmaid was polite and veryfriendly. She actually wanted to talk to us who were sitting at the bar! A nice change from some of the barmaids/barmen we'vebeen served by recently, who pay more attention to their phones. For dinner we were served by Peter. In terms of service andwait time, everything was pretty reasonable. For appetizers we ordered the fried zucchini/eggplant, fried calamari, and pikilia.Everything was great except we were a little disappointed that there was no kopanisti (not sure if it was because they ran outor just an oversight). Fried zucchini was awesome because it wasn't oily like at other restaurants. For the main course weordered the ribeye. It was cooked perfectly and no complaints there. The restaurant was busy but not overbearing. I love thatthe tables are far apart so you're not elbow to elbow with the table next to you. Five stars+, we'll definitely be back andwould love to organize networking/fundraising events here in the future. Read more
