Just started working next door & needed to stay close to have lunch so I decided to give this place a try, note the day before I... got an apple slice & that was just delish!! I had a simple burger, asked for it well (no pink) it had cheese, pickles, specialsauce (dijionaise) with caramelized onions.....OMG....so flipping yummy!!! Def recommend this place! While in Illinois I was looking for a breakfast place and The Sweet & Savory Spot appeared on my yelp app. I was a bit skeptical... looking at the images on yelp, but I was willing to give it a shot. I ordered the Salmon LVR and a Chocolate Chip Cookie. I kidyou not, probably one of the best Salmon breakfast sandwiches I've had ever. First off I didn't know what to expect when Iordered the Salmon LVR since when I received it, it just looked like an egg breakfast sandwich. However, when I took a bite Isaw that the Salmon was in the eggs, and the herb cream cheese worked perfectly with the saltiness of the smoked salmon and thefluffiness of the scrambled egg. With the brioche being slightly sweet, the whole sandwich was perfectly balanced. After Ifinished it, I ordered another the same day! The chocolate chip cookie was also massive, and was the right level of crunchyexterior and soft interior. This was probably one of my most favorite places to eat in Illinois when I traveled to Chicago.Note, this place is not in Chicago, so you would have to travel a bit out of Chicago to try this spot. Best burger ???? within 500 miles. I sat down with my juicy burger and fries (and brownie!) only to notice I forgot to get a... drink. Sh*t. The Diner Burger is my favorite burger in the suburbs ???? significantly better than burgers I?ve had at Pierce, Cadence, That... Burger Joint, ? This is blasphemous but this burger saves me a trip into the city for Au Cheval (and is half the price). Also,the breakfast sandwich with tomato bacon jam is the best and more novel breakfast sandwich I?ve ever had. The carnie toss on theweekends is also AMAZING. HUGE and delicious cinnamon roll; Wedge salad is yummy and massive; fries are fire; sweet potatosalad wasn?t for me but had TONS of flavor. OBSESSED! Read more
This is our favorite place in Westmont!! We love their breakfast (sandwiches, all the bakery items, and breakfast potatoes).... I?ve been meaning to write a review for a long time but always eat the food before taking a photo. We?ve also eaten a lot oftheir lunch and dinner items and always have loved them (burgers, soups, and sandwiches)! My daughter this morning startedscolding my wife because she thought she was finishing her breakfast potatoes with cheese which is her favorite breakfast itemanywhere! Can?t wait to come back. I live in the city but was in the area and came across this hidden gem. Family owned small restaurant... serving baked goods and the most amazing food. We had the wolf, biscuits & gravy, house burger, breakfast potatoes, donut, &cake pops. Everything was AMAZING! I can?t wait to go back to try more food items. Everyone was extremely sweet & welcoming.It?s a whole in the wall type of vibe but very cozy and perfect for a quick bite. They don?t make them like this anymore!
