I've been meaning to write this review since I ate at The Cafe on Oct. 16. I was spending the day meandering around Watch Hill... and Westerly and really just wandered into The Cafe on a whim. Steve Corrigan was doing hosting duties and showed me the menu,which looked promising. Cut to the chase: The food was great (yummy bacon burger with fries) and the beer was local, cold anddelicious. The service was super and everyone was friendly and welcoming. If I lived in Westerly, or anywhere in southern RhodeIsland, I'd be here all the time. It would be fun to sit at that huge bar and chat with friends over a drink. The Cafe is partof an arts complex that includes the United Theatre next door (three screens), a gallery and a performance rehearsal spacedownstairs. Rhode Island's NPR network has a small studio there also. It's an impressive arts center that is helping to givedowntown Westerly a boost. It was fun talking to Steve about everything that is going on here and getting a tour.Thanks! Highly recommended! Read more
Chicken sandwich was to die for. So delicious! The burger was good but I regretted not ordering the chicken once I had a bite of... my husbands. The drinks were also so good! The oysters were perfect. Our waitress Macy was also very attentive and sweet. Greatlunch experience! Read more
We had dinner there last night before David Baldacci's appearance at the theatre. Apps, main course, cocktails and dessert were... delicious. My family and I went for dinner here last weekend, and it exceeded all of my expectations. The style and decor were grand, and... our dishes delicious. I had the charcuterie board with the special pasta with mussels entree. Terrific. However, it was theskill and flair of Stephen & Stephen that made this a place worth raving about. The cocktails this place put together? Outstanding. At our table we had the Cafe Buzz, a take on the Paper Plane, and their spin on the French Quarter, among others. Very nice place. We had a work retirement party there, we enjoyed the appetizers and drinks. People were very friendly and... helpful. I would love to go there again. I specifically liked the cheese appetizers, the falafel plates and the mini tacos. Read more
Great cocktails and great rib eye! I have yet to see a movie after but connecting with the theater is a great idea. Would... recommend making a reservation if you do plan on having dinner before a movie here as the place will fill up occasionally justbefore a show time. Read more
What a delight! The food was outstanding. The service incredible. The ambiance...well, the pics show our table in front of... the oversized lit stone fireplace. A piece of Heaven in little Westerly!! Absolute favorite spot for a drink, app, and dessert. We have been here loads of times for a drink and app before dinner... elsewhere and post-dinner drink and dessert. No idea why we still haven?t sat down for dinner. Their drinks are the best inWesterly, hands down! Best part, all their staff know EVERYTHING blabout the drinks. Our server on the last visit went intodetail on how the bacon fat-washed Bourbon drink was made. Clearly a well trained team. Other than the perfect, warmatmosphere our fav is the Sticky Toffee Pudding. This competes with the best in the UK. Read more
