Was excited to go. Frequent visitor last year and big cheerleader. Have given previous 5 star reviews. 1st time back this year. ... Food prices up 50% which is expected with inflation. Problem was food. Smaller portion but biggest issue was brisket wasextremely fatty. Not nearly as good as last year. One of my favorite dishes was a letdown. Read more
I drove from Fairhaven, MA for my second appointment at my Granddaughter new business (Skinray)today. We. Worked up an appetite.... I'm in a vegan diet, so she suggested Cinder Restaurant and I'm glad she did! The indoor restaurant had a pleasant ambience.The restaurant owners created a welcome environment. We ordered the tofu tacos. The tofu was pleasantly spicy and sweet taste ofpineapples, kimchi, jalapenos, sriracha, aioli on a soft tortilla. If you don't like spicy, just remove the jalapeños, lol. Some of the best brisket I?ve ever had. Atmosphere is awesome and the beer/wine list is great. I love what they did with the... porch. The fire pit is always going it seems! Already been multiple times since opening. Hopefully this is a sign for whatWesterly food scene will become. Edit: The brisket portion got way smaller and the prices are outrageous. Food is super fresh, farm to table. I had a root vegetable bowl which had parsnips, carrots and turnips. tacos are made there.... Nothing was too spicy, but there was a variety of flavorings, with influences from South America, the Middle East and EastAsia. Fast/Casual and fun interior. Good wine selections.The vegan Caesar salad was phenomenal. Lots of fresh bok choy,crispy chick peas and tangy dressing that had a great snappy bite to it. Great addition to downtown Westerly. Small but great menu. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Our group had the Chicken, Lamb... and pork belly naan. All absolutely delicious. Just the right portion without over indulging. The vegan salad and chicken soupso so good. Looking forward to Summer out on the patio area!!! Read more
I would give it ten stars if I could! Incredible service and hospitality. Place is impeccably clean and has such a cool design.... Menu is easy to navigate and after going three times we have almost tried everything. 1: The Vegan Caesar! This is one of thebest salads I have ever had in my life?raw bok choy is genius, and the dressing, crunchy chic peas and sunflower parm?vibrantand light and you would never think ?vegan? other than delicious. The spicy lamb flatbread is a must have. The Minh dip is alsoa must have and you could drink the jus straight up. The smoked chicken flatbread was so juicy and anything with cracklins isautomatically a win. All of the smoked meats are wonderful, the sides and plant based dishes are stars in and of themselves.Amazing drinks choices. Food is really interesting, really different for Westerly! Lots of interesting sauces, seasonings, & food combinations. That... said, the portions are a bit small so you have to order 2 things, but then you have too much! Go with a friend and get asidedish to share. Read more
