7/26/22 After a couple of hiccups finding an open seafood joint along the shoreline today (Tuesday), my riding companions and... I found Bill's Seafood open. Parking was scarce even though the restaurant was less than half full of customers. I'd hate to seeit on a busy day. They have outdoor seating on a deck overhanging the river, but it was a bit muggy so we entered and chose atable to sit at. We were soon greeted and gave our drink orders. We all wanted non-alcohol refreshment today. We each ordered acup of Rhode Island clam chowder that was good, but not the best I've had. I've never had what I'd call a bad bowl of RI stylechowder. Our lunch choices were a Reuben Sandwich for Bill, a lunch portion clam strip roll for Pat that had a very generousportion of nicely fried clams, and I had the baked, stuffed cod that was just "ok". A bit over cooked, but not brutalized. Minecame with some very good cole slaw and a nice portion of decent wild rice. Service was very good, and friendly. I decent lunch,but I don't see a return trip in my future with so many equally good and better seafood places closer to me. Read more
Mr. Bill is an amazing man. But you know what?s even better? Bills seafood, the food amazing, the location amazing, and the... staff amazing. This place is a must go if you are either passing through or live here all year round. I love bills seafoodrestaurant. Read more
Where do I begin?.? This place is an absolute institution. Incredible seafood, even better staff, and the space is perfect for... having a great summer afternoon. No other restaurant on the Connecticut coast is gonna have you leaving like this placewill. Get a mudslide or a dirty Shirley. Read more
Staying at SH marina in town. Had delicious fresh oysters. Amazing dinner at the bar. Great service. My husband had prime rib &... thanks to bartender Barney?s suggestion, I had Seafood Fra Diavlo with Shrimp, Scallops, Mussels, Calamari & Clams over Linguinew/Garlic Bread. Didn?t disappoint, highly recommend & will be back if in port again. Read more

Went to Bill?s for Mother?s Day and they were ready for us Mom?s! We always get the steamers as they?re so good and I usually... get their amazing tuna melt but this trip, I had their prime rib (1st time) and it was delicious. My husband had the wholebelly clams which are always delicious! Love this place, highly recommend. Oh! And we got ice cream for the drive home?.sogood! Read more
Nice sunny early March day, we went for a ride on the shore. Lunch at Bill's Seafood in Westbrook. Ordered sea scallop platter... and the fish and chips. The scallops were perfectly fried with and were delicious, Cole slaw had nice flavor. My wife had thefish and chips she said same about a nice light fried taste and more than enough great tasting fish. great stop, unfortunatelywe were inside and didn't get the added attraction of the Singing Bridge. nice place to stop and enjoy a good seafood meal. Came here with a group of 9. 5 adults and 4 kids. Most of us really enjoyed our food. We had calamari and steamers for... appetizers...we all loved these. I had the hot lobster roll. Excellent. Two adults and a kid had fish and chips. They saidthis was delicious. One adult had macaroni and cheese with pulled pork which he liked. One kid had a cheeseburger which sheliked. One kid had chocolate milk. The older kid got the steak...he was not crazy about it. Too well done for him. Staff wasvery attentive. Food came out fast. We ate out back on the patio. Atmosphere was very relaxed and casual. There is a Christmas???? tree outside that is there year round I'm told. Makes for fun pictures in July. Read more
