We had a nice evening going to this restaurant. We were surprised by how good the food was that we did order. Service was... friendly and the waiter was attentive. We ordered the steak one medium well one medium and they got them both right. There was an arcade inside with Xboxes, pacman,... air hockey and a football table! A small casino to boot. It was clean and not very crowded. It was attached to the Holiday Innand I was a little made because we were at the hotel across the street (next time!) Our waitress was new but we mentioned thatthere was nothing huckleberry on the drink menu and she made us a huckleberry lemonade from scratch. (word to the owners putthat on the menu for non alcoholic drinks!) Her name was Melanie/Melody and she was soooo sweet. Sorry bout the name I wastaking pictures when she said it ????. This place was awesome. Great service and the food was good. We had the New York strip with salad and it was good. Our server... Melanie who just started with the restaurant was a super pro. She got us some huckleberry lemonade(which should be on the drinkmenu) and it was great. She was very attentive. When we got there we had to wait maybe 20 minutes but it went by quick becauseright next door is a game room with video games and air hockey and fooseball. I don't know if it was open for anybody but itsure made our wait quick. I think it's perfect for parents with kids just as long as the parents watch them. They had gooddrink specials and plenty of TV's to watch the game or a movie. (I was watching tennis and my gf was watching a man on fire). After dinner as we walked out we toured a real train and got to see what it was like. It's another thing to do while waiting ifyou have kids but again make sure you keep a eye on them. I can, of course, only judge the food off of what we tried. It was one of the best Caesar salads I have had! The swiss and... mushroom burger was very straight forward (strong swiss and mushroom flavor) and I guess I would have liked to see it elevatedwith more flavors. First time in my life, the server said, "she reserves the right not to serve". I went there at 5:20, which is a little bit... busy, but the lounge was not full. I was led to the bar seat and had to wait for the bartender to "finish her orders" to getserved. I said that I felt unwelcomed and was in a low priority for no reason, then when she came with my food, I had to askfor silverware because they did not come with the food. Then she said," you shall stop being rude, or I reserves the right notto serve." And on the bill, I was marked as RUDE GUY. I was shocked by the lady and the food. Maybe I shall wait for another 30mins instead of asking immediately. That probably is a Montana State law or something as a foreigner I shall learn before I walkin West Yellowstone. The Korean BBQ flatbread has a sauce with overloaded vinegar, do not go for that. Draft beer is verylight. Maybe it's because the flatbread was too sour makes it taste light. Something was definitely missed and I was looking forward to something decent but I'm gonna spend my week going elsewhere. The... only thing nailed was my burger. First off for the price I expected more. The Roosevelt burger was pulled off with a toastedbun so it wouldn't be soggy, yet the lettuce and tomato leaked all over the bottom before I could get it to my hotel 1 minuteaway. The bison stroganoff had a huge slap of sour cream on the top masking any taste it did have. The wings were great butthe sauce leaked all over our celery, carrots and chips. Maybe consider using a different box or some sort of divider. Frieswere just standard. I think more time spent with the to go orders is DEFINITELY needed to avoid a review like this. Therestaurant was a lounge / bar type and very cute though. With every dish there was a 'but' so please take that intoconsideration .... The place is mediocre pub fair. There is nothing special about the man you know the service. The only interesting thing about... this place is that train cart inside the building that one is worth looking at. The food on the other hand is not. We paid for a private dining experience in the rail car and were thrilled with the experience. The chef, Kevin Proper had as... much fun creating the courses as we had enjoying them! Having been a summer resident since 1986 I can honestly say this was thebest dining experience I have ever had in West Yellowstone. Read more
