Food was ok at best 3/5. Everything was just way too salty. Prices are a bit high for what you get. But... charging $2.50 for... hot water? When I saw the Chinese menu I though ?oh how thoughtful to explain these Spanish phrases to Chinese people? until Isaw the separate charges for hot water (which Chinese people love to drink) Absolutely outrageous. I have dined in 30 states and five countries and I would rank this as one of the top 3 meals in my lifetime. Incredibly fresh... perfectly prepared dishes. Attentive wait staff and well-crafted sangria. One of the more expensive spots in town and worthevery penny. Read more
The way dinning should be. Traditional Spanish food, delightful atmosphere and very accommodating staff. Idea behind this place... is to either order several smaller dishes to try or a platter. We decided to try small meals- sheep cheese platter, salmon ontop of bread with capers, egg and cheese and finally Spanish meatballs. This is true finer- dining at its best. This restaurant racially discriminates against Chinese. I just graduated from college and brought my family to the Yellowstone,... we had a great time in the park, and were expecting to enjoy a great meal at Cafe Madriz. I asked the server if they have aChinese menu, because my parents don't understand English, they said they have it. However, instead of bringing a menu, theybrought a notice, or to better put it, a warning, saying, in Chinese, that they charge $2.5 for a cup of hot water, and also inChinese, that they charge for extra olive oil to put on salad. My parents were confused, and I was angry. I have been in thestates for 4 years, but have never seen a restaurant that charges for tap water. This place, however, they not only charges forhot water, but also put it in Chinese to let all Chinese tourists know that they are not welcomed here. I've never given such alow rating, and honestly, the food there wasn't that bad, but this attitude is not tolerable.
