Reviews for Drake's: The Barn in West Sacramento, CA
This place is perfect for a night out! Whether you have dogs, kids, or just want a fun night out with friends this place has it... all. The food and drinks are amazing, especially the elotes! When it gets cold in the evening you can rent a fireplace and staycozy. I look forward to future visits here! Read more
Very cool open-air beer garden and restaurant that feels like the perfect choice for a date, a large group, a small group, or... anything in between. They have lots of tables to choose from, essentially all of which are outdoors, plus some fire pits you canrent and grassy areas where you can mingle about. It's primarily a brewery, so there are tons of delicious beer options.Cocktails are available as well though. The food menu leans heavily on pizzas and burgers, so it is not super extensive, but thepizzas are big, reasonably priced, and delicious (we haven't tried the burgers). You order through a QR code on yourtable. You'll need a reservation for weekend nights for sure. Keep in mind everything is outdoors so this place really shineswhen the weather is nice, but it won't be a great choice if it's hot or rainy. Highly recommended and one of Sacramento's besthangouts! To those of you that enjoy a strictly outdoor experience, this is one of the best outdoor breweries I have ever been to. This... takes me to a trip on the other side of the Sacramento River where I finally had the opportunity trying out "Drakes: The Barn".Conveniently located on Riverfront St. & within a 1/2 mile to Sutter Health Park (formerly Raley Field) in West Sacramento,Drakes: The Barn has been serving up thousands of customers since their opening in 2016. I came here with one of my friendsduring the afternoon of Sunday 7/18/2021 at around 1:40pm. Since it was a relatively warm summer day, there wasn't a whole lotof people. As many people have previously stated, this place can be your best friend or your worst enemy depending on theweather. My recommendation is to come during the spring and fall months as well as summer evenings as Sacramento's heat can beoverwhelming for many. There is a fairly small parking lot but I saw many people arrive by bike or scooter since there is apaved trail that runs adjacent to this place. Prior to entering, you will see what resembles a large wooden structure which theycall their "barn". It serves as a limited shaded area to block out the sun but the majority of outdoor tables are openly spreadout. However, the exterior grounds includes several picnic tables with umbrellas and most importantly, misters that spray coolwater on those uncomfortably hot summer days. The ordering process is quick, simple, and efficient. You can order your drinksand/or food from the table (each table has its own unique QR code that you can scan with your phone) or you can walk up to thebar area. Their drink selection is quite vast with several craft beers that are on draft or by bottle. Additionally, they have anice selection of cocktails, spirits, and hard cider. They also include a decent food selection that offers amazing comfort foodincluding fries, wings, mac & cheese, pizza, salad, and desserts. I kept my first visit simple by or Read more
Came here for the Best of Sacramento event and it was an awesome experience. This place is a much better venue than the... convention center. The Drake was big enough for a stage and plenty of room for vendors and food trucks. Plus it was great thateverything was outdoors. The only thing that sucked was the bathroom did not have ac so when it's 100 degrees outside, you'resweating in there! Read more
Hate to mark down such a wonderful venue, but I walked down there from the city center, about 1.8 miles and back only to find my... Cobb salad without any dressing. It was a well-constructed salad, but a little dry going down without anything to put on it.Looks like an amazing place to bring the kids. Read more
I wish this place wouldn’t use single serve plastic for everything but the drinks. Ordered a salad that came in a take away... paper bowl with plastic lid and encased in a stapled paper to go bag. Then it was placed inside a large paper bag with handlesand stapled shut like we were getting up to go (not sitting at a tabled which we ordered the food to be delivered to). Plasticwrapped single use plastic silverware. Pizza came in a great holder to help keep warm but it really could have been in areuseable one (not a paper product). By the way, the size of the thin crust pizza was perfect to share with the salad webought. Looking forward to bringing my nieces here. Lots of fun stuff for kids to get energy out and the view of the river &bridge is really nice. Thinking they may lose the bridge view in a little bit due to the construction going on. Overall, will beback but really hope owners think more about their carbon footprint. Read more

We went to see a movie at the Barn. The entrance is not very intuitive for Barnflix because the regular patrons walk in the... front but if you came for a movie you need to go back outside and walk around to the back to a special gate so they can check IDand allow you into the same area you were just in before you were told to go around. The Barn has a nice setup with benches, chairs, tables, sun shades, and firepits. There were dogs all over the place so it's clearly dog friendly. The field whereBarnflicks is held was right next to the regular hangout area so not too far from food or drinks. The field was well kept. Theyhave Pizza and Salads in the bar and Burgers and Tots in the "Food Truck" just behind the bar. The food was made pretty quicklyand they texted us when the food was ready for pickup. The food and drinks need to be ordered on a cell phone and payed with acard. I heard someone complaining about not being able to pay for alcohol with cash. I'm not sure in the outside bar allows forcash sales but they have a tip jar out which you would assume means they expect people to have cash in their hand. We both hadsalads, they tasted like sadness but that was because we didn't fine the "Food Truck" until after we ordered food. Read more
