This was a big surprise! This is hands down the most authentic Mexican/Columbian/Central American cuisine in Monroe. Nothing... really fancy, but nice, and the owner and staff are fantastic. The food was amazing not to mention reasonable, and my daughtereven made the statement that this places food made every other "Mexican" restaurant in our area seem like Taco Bell incomparison, which is pretty accurate. WOW!! I drove by on the way to drop a trailer to be loaded.. GALD I stopped the 2nd time.. Honestly some of the best food I've... eaten ANYWHERE (including my Grandmama's). I can see why this place rates so high! The food is delicious! Hands down, the best homemade tacos I've ever had (and I normally... don't like corn tortilla tacos). The pupusas we ordered were the most soft and savory pupusas I've ever had! Compliments to thechef!! More importantly than the food is the service--which I had to say was one of the most charming and welcoming experiencesI've had from a dining atmosphere. The waitress, Blanca, was funny and caring; she makes you feel like family. She was not onlycarried pleasant conversation, but she was attentive to our needs and accurate with our order. Even the man (whom I assume isone of the owners) came out and gave us a free plate of tacos for the extended wait. This was when I was floored by the amazingtaste of the tacos and knew I was in for a treat when the pupusas came out. I can't say enough good things about this place. Ijust moved here from California last week and I can say that we don't have too many places with this level of service andquality. Well done to the staff!! I'll be coming here frequently for sure! Glad to see us get a great place for tacos. Definitely the best barbacoa in town. The huevos con chorizo is also... outstanding. The chicharrones are out of this world, slightly firm on the outside, melt in your mouth on the inside. They alsoadded al pastor tacos to the menu. Very affordable. Great place! Hand made tortillas, authentic Mexican food with amazing flavors. Definitely a great daily lunch spot. My wife... loves their specialty breads. I go there at least three times a week. Highly recommend the chicharrón or barbacoa tacos and themole. Read more
